L’Equipe believes that Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris could be on his way out of N17 and that keeper Mike Maignan is the big name tipped to be his replacement.
On social media, the potential exit was discussed and bizarrely, there were many voices that were delighted to hear that the Frenchman was thinking of quitting Spurs.
I’m not quite sure what this tells us; maybe on any given day, one can always find a bunch of people who keenly hate anyone and everyone.
The suggestion from the French outlet was also that Hugo could move to Manchester United, which seems a peculiar notion given Lloris’ age, and the fact the United already have David De Gea who is contracted until 2023, plus the rising star Henderson who is contracted to 2025.
I take a view that Hugo most likely would return to France, but it might be nice if when he does leave, it is with kind wished opposed to this rude white noise.

Next stop PSG.
Gomes had the skillset but was so erratic and would do loopy things in big matches.
Most of the other keepers we’ve played since Robinson have been either past their best or too untested.
Lloris hasn’t much competition to being named the best Spurs keeper of the modern era.
Exactly Matt…See my comment below.
Well for a rubbish goalkeeper that’s been playing in a team with a very suspect defence he has not done too badly in the Premier league this year. Considering, that he has only let in 30 goals in the premier league and is currently the 3rd best goalkeeper (tied with Martinez at Aston Villa) with the least number of goals let in.behind Man City (21 goals let in) and Chelsea (25 goals let in). 🤣 🤣 🤣
In general Hugo has been in good form since Jose came in. A couple of errors but no one is error free.
Deserves utmost respect for the service and commitment shown to the club over the years. However, I think he may be among a group of players that have been there a couple of years too long. A great shot stopper, but always a bit suspect with his feet. Should he be regarded as one of the greats? A difficult one that, but hard to argue against, given his World Cup winning captain status.
The man’s made a few errors and we have fans putting him in the Heurelho Gomes bracket.
Could the supposed “inability to control the 6 yard box” be in any way linked to the fact that we’re still trying to decide a consistent back line since Toby & Jan broke up?
How can anyone think Paul Robinson was a good keeper? He was genuinely our worst in the last 30 years.
watch any videos of us conceding goals, and check how far off his line he was for them. Best one to check is the West Ham 3-4 Spurs game. Noble goal, Zamora header, Tevez free kick. He used to take a jump off of his line before a player shot. He was fucking poor.
Social media gives a plenty of space to be disrespectful and unaccountable. Not surprised. Clowns.
He’s been easily our best keeper since Paul Robinson – and I’d rate him more highly than Paul Robinson.
Of all the Spurs keepers to criticise he’s be very low down the list.
What rubbish. I want him to go now. He was a great shot-stopper but dreadful at controlling the six-yard box pressurising his defence in the process, making a defence drop deeper
Here’s an idea. Get the great Pat Jennings to scout his replacement
He’s been a Spurs great, undeniably – should be afforded basic respect from every ‘fan’ at the very least.
