Hoffenheim players give an amazing show of support to Spurs loanee

By Bruce Grove -

Hoffenheim players showed their support for Ryan Sessegnon during their 5-0 win over Slovan Liberec yesterday.

The 20-year-old Tottenham loanee had earlier in the week shared some images of the racial abuse that he suffers in his inbox on social media.

The abuse attracted condemnation from across the world of football and he got support from both Hoffenheim and Tottenham.

He is spending this season on loan at the German side and he has been one of their key players this season, but he remained an unused substitute last night.

When his team scored their first goal of the night through Munas Dabbur, the players raised their fist in support of Sessegnon and to send a message that racism had no place in the game.

The young Englishman then tweeted the image of that celebration and captioned it “My guys, solidarity!!”

Racism has been a major issue in the game for some time now, and it remains unclear when it will completely be wiped out of the game.

Sessegnon joined Hoffenheim for more game time and he has found that at the start of this campaign.

He will hope to return to Spurs as a more rounded player that can force his way into the first team.
