‘He’s a special player’ Ferdinand backs Kane to do this one big thing at Tottenham

By Bruce Grove -

Harry Kane’s strike against West Brom was his 208th for Tottenham in all competitions, and the Englishman is closing in becoming the club’s highest goalscorer.

That strike places him 2nd on the list of the club’s top goalscorers, a position he shares with Bobby Smith, who also scored as many times for Spurs.

The England captain has some way to go before he surpasses Jimmy Greaves who scored 266 goals for Tottenham.

With many years still left in him and his impressive level of consistency, the striker has been backed to break the record.

Rio Ferdinand watched on in the BT Sport studio as Kane surprisingly returned to help Spurs earn all three points.

His strike partner, Son Heung-min, scored Tottenham’s other goal, and he played an important role in that as well.

Ferdinand says if Kane remains at Tottenham and stays injury-free, he will score more goals than Greaves did for the club.

He said via Mail Sport: ‘He can if he stays here, if he stays injury free he definitely takes that record.

‘He’s a special player. You hear the words from Jose Mourinho about him. He knows the value of this player, not just in terms of his goals but his presence.

‘He comes in and the mindset changes for Tottenham.’

Please, go take a look st Madison and Grealish who are not being protected by superstars, but are leading their teams like season veterans.

If they are genuine mistakes, that GK should never play for Liverpool again. Somehow I think that won’t be the case.

I think Guardiola was very smart by not playing him too early. He probably hadn’t developed physically enough but he now looks the part. I hate to think what he might do to Ben Davies. He made Andy Robertson look a mug.

It’s about time Foden got some regular starts, he’s clearly better than all the other young players but seems to av been held back.

Just finished watching Liverpool being well beaten by Man City They were fantastic and I took great pleasure in witnessing a future superstar and the best English player of his generation. Phil Foden is his name and his is an outstanding talent that any fan can enjoy.

Absolutely reliant on Kane. Scousers finished off….although, as I said from start, they were never winning it this time.
Will Jose get a little turn out at the Etihad?? Maybe…
