“He’ll be one of the top defenders in the league this season” Tottenham fans react to incredible Sanchez Premier League stats

By Bruce Grove -

Davinson Sanchez was expected to leave Tottenham in the last transfer window as the Colombian has continually struggled to justify his place in the squad.

He almost always gets favoured by the club’s managers at the start of their reign before he falls down the pecking order.

The club had reportedly been open to cashing in on him in the summer transfer window, but there was no takers and he seems to have been given a new lease of life under Nuno Espirito Santo at Tottenham.

The defender has played in their three Premier League matches so far and he has helped them to keep a clean sheet in each of them.

Spurs took to their Twitter account to reveal that he has played 270 minutes so far, made 12 clearances, 9 tackles, 5 blocks, while keeping 3 clean sheets.

Some of the club’s fans seem to have fallen in love with him again and made that known in the comments.

it would be nice it Tangy cloud find it within himself to stop eating cakes in the training ground cafe whist laughing at his team mates busting a gut. If we could get him in the middle alongside those two the balance would be good.

Dele doesn’t have the passing, and we almost came unstuck against Watford. It will become a problem, just watch.

It’s true, our midfield has been so flakey over the last few seasons. PEH helped but neither Sissoko or Winks were the right kind of players to fill the role.

Sanchez was a beast for his first season, thought we’d got a great player. Then his form just went off the rails, around the time of the World Cup I think. Total mystery, but not surprising if there’s still a top player in there.

Bit soon to start thinking he’s turned the corner (felt that with Sissoko for a whole season) but I hope so. I still have high hopes for Rodon after injury clears and if he’s finally given a decent chance.

Of course
2 lovely players shielding the defence now.
Thats why we are not conceding but not scoring either.
Who doesn’t like sitting at the top of the table.

I think Skipp is key to this, we are playing a very Jose 433 from last year (November time) , though with skippy in the back rather than Tanguy it gives the extra protection and mentally makes it easier for the two CBs hence less brain fart moments. Nuno will get away with this for longer as he doesn’t have the Jose drama, perceived back story and results go the right way.
