“He gives everything to the team” – Pundit reveals why this Tottenham star rarely gets criticised

By Bruce Grove -

One player that rarely gets criticised by Tottenham’s fans is Lucas Moura, while most of his teammates are not so fortunate after a poor performance.

Every player has their off-days, but even when Moura doesn’t play so well, he hardly gets bad press.

Former Tottenham number one, Paul Robinson says that is because the attacker puts in the work on the pitch and we can all see that he tries his best to make things happen for the team.

He was one of Tottenham’s poorest players in their match against West Ham, but Robinson maintains, he just had a rare bad day.

“I will never criticise Lucas Moura for the way he plays,” he told Football Insider.

“He gives everything to the team. It just did not happen for him yesterday.

“He was playing in a team that was playing poorly. This team has no identity or style. I don’t think the players know how they are meant to play.

“I just think Lucas Moura had a bad day.

“Regardless of when and where he plays, you get 150 per cent from him. His energy with and without the ball is second to none. It was a bad day at the office for him but he was certainly not alone.

“I will never criticise Lucas Moura because he puts everything in for the Spurs shirt. He is constantly trying to do the right thing with or without the ball.”

Moura remains one of Tottenham’s main goal threats and he always gives everything in an attempt to get a positive result.

Fans can hardly forget how he almost single-handedly secured the win against Ajax in the semi-final of the Champions League in 2019.

The Brazilian has always kept his place in the team regardless of the manager in charge and will contribute to whatever success Spurs achieve this season.

He has played in 8 Premier League matches this season, but he is still looking for his first goal or assist in the competition.

He tries his hardest bless him. He also seems to do everything in fast forward speed. Hard to criticise a trier and on his day can be world class. Unfortunately not as often as we’d like.
