Hasenhuttl to the rescue? One of Conte’s yesterday men could be starting over

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur is being applauded for their additions this summer transfer window, considering their squad has improved as they look to challenge for silverware this upcoming season. However, they’ll need to begin offloading players, one of them being Harry Winks.

Winks is one of the players not on Spurs’ trip to South Korea to begin preparations for the 2022-23 season. According to the Daily Mail, Southampton is keen on a move for the 26-year-old midfielder.

Last season, the England international appeared in nine top-flight matches for Spurs as manager Antonio Conte opted for a midfield pairing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur during the second half of the campaign.

Furthermore, the midfield is even more crowded with the arrivals of Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr, who was on loan last season. Also, Oliver Skipp is back from his injury, so there is plenty of competition for limited spots.

As a result, Winks might be better off heading elsewhere to kickstart his career, as he perhaps hopes to play his way into consideration for the England national team at the World Cup in November.

Shows how poor Royal and Doherty are that anyone thinks KWP should be a target. All 3 are sub-par for where we should be aiming to go.

Fans can be dipsticks.. Lol.. You’re right KWP has found his place. Winky would thrive in similar fashion at a similar club.

Getting rid of Ndombele and LoCelso and replacing them with one or two top players would make this a marvellous window.

Fans can be funny and fickle characters. I am shocked at the frequency of KWP’s name mentioned as a mistake in letting go, and as a hopeful return.

He has found his level at which he can shine. In his own words. I am hesitant to post links uninvited, but there are several out there.

One of the Zagreb 4. He should find pastures new.

Who really wants Kyle Walker Peters back? He’s 25 years old. Worth about 19 million. He is Winks standard…
These guys are atypical products of our poor academy. Sub par players like Ryan Mason, Tom Carrol etc.

We need to sort our academy out.

Poor Winky, feel sorry for the lad because he’s Spurs through and through.. Still he’s achieved more than most fans actually playing for his club..
Definitely time to move on because he’s pants.

Ah, Jar Jar Winks. He really did not have much of a place in the Spur Wars series, yet people kept trying to cast him.

Perhaps he could find a useful place with So’ton… After which Spurs fans would oddly pine for him to return. A maddening pattern.

I do feel sorry for Winks & Reguilon not going to Seoul. Fair enough with Ndonkey & Lo Output (bad attitude) but I think he could have let them go on the trip but Conte is brutal.

Hope springs eternal if Mr Winks thinks he has any chance of returning to the England team. Oliver Skipp has more chance.
