Harry Redknapp discusses Tottenham’s top-four chances

By Bruce Grove -

Harry Redknapp has predicted that Tottenham will finish the season inside the top four, despite their struggles for form at the moment.

Jose Mourinho’s team started this season in fine form and even topped the league table for some weeks.

They have, however, hit a rough patch at the moment and will go into their next league game against Chelsea on a run of two consecutive losses.

They have also lost Harry Kane to injury and his absence will affect Son Heung-min.

Kane and Son have scored a combined 22 Premier League goals for Spurs in this campaign, only 12 more goals have been scored by other players at the club.

Yet Redknapp reckons that Spurs will finish the season fourth on the league table.

He said Liverpool and Manchester City will be the top two, Manchester United and Spurs will occupy the other two spots.

‘Top four? Manchester City or Liverpool [will win it],’ Redknapp told Sky Sports as quoted by the Metro

‘I suppose Manchester City are favourites. I was with Liverpool but I think Manchester City probably. There’s two runners Man City and liverpool and then Manchester United and Tottenham.

‘I do like Leicester, Brendan Rodgers has done a fantastic job there. They’re the team that could break into it and Chelsea have good players but I’m sticking with Manchester United and Tottenham as third and fourth.’

I think 6th is realistically the best we can hope for. Depending on Vardy, Leicester should get 4th behind Liverpool and the Mancs. Everton, Chelsea and Villa, even Wet Spam could get above us.

If Redknapp were hired to manage another club, say Bournemouth…would all of the media call them “Frank Lampard’s Uncle’s Cherries” or just Harry’s Cherries?

Likely we’ll finish 6th behind foxes. Need to win the Europa league, Jose, best chance we have for both silverware and champions league qual.
