Harry Kane valuation gets backing from former Spurs man

By Bruce Grove -

Jamie O’Hara has come to the defence of Harry Kane after Tony Cascarino claimed that he is no longer world-class.

After watching Kane struggle in England’s recent international games, Cascarino claimed that injuries have taken a toll on the England captain and that he is no longer as quality a striker as he was before.

He claimed that Kane is still a top striker, but he is nowhere near as good as he was three years ago, adding that the injuries that he has had over the years may have taken a toll on him and is affecting his performance.

O’Hara, however, disagreed with him and claimed that Kane remains a world-class striker, and at the age of 27, he is only just reaching his prime.

He claimed that Kane clearly returned from his last Hamstring injury very sharp as seen by his performances during the restart and that he remains a striker worth £150m.

“For me, Harry Kane is still a world-class striker,” said the former Spurs midfielder on the talkSPORT Breakfast.

“He’s only 27, he’s in his prime.

“He had a bad injury last season; we’ve seen in the All or Nothing documentary how bad that hamstring injury was and it takes time to come back from that.

“After he had the lockdown off, he came back sharp and he looked all right.

“You talk about the England games where he looked fatigued, but those games were just a waste of time in my opinion.

“I think he’s still got so much to offer and for me he’s still worth £150m.”

O’Hara is certainly a lot more sensible with his comments than Cascarino but then again, that is not exactly a hard thing to achieve.
