“Good enough to win” deluded Jose Mourinho is kidding no one (Video)

By Bruce Grove -

If you have zero shots on target you absolutely do not deserve to win but that tiny little fact has passed Jose Mourinho by it seems.

The man really is deluded, he actually believes that Tottenham deserved to win the game against Bournemouth this evening, he is fast becoming a walking talking meme and he represents our team.

Of course, he rattles out his excuses but he is no longer kidding anyone.

I am now dreading Sunday with this man in charge.

They haven’t got between me and the club, you’re missing the point. That’s precisely WHY i bang on about them. I wouldn’t ever completely boycott going to games.

But boy, the football is atrocious under Jose. Hard to watch, non-Spurs.

If we are going nowhere then we might as well play nice stuff, we ain’t.

Bad owners, bad football nice stadium. Great!

So Levy sabotaged him and he gave up and you think sacking him was the right thing to do rather than Levy take the view that they should rebuild under him?

It went rotten in the end and the ONLY reason for that was the actions of the board and the dreadful transfer policy for the last three years.

We could win the league next season according to Jose though. What do you make of that? 😂

I keep saying ENIC OUT because that’s what I want and so do lots of other fans. You might want people to shut up about it but as long as they remain, no matter how long that it is, people will keep saying it.

We accept their presence but we don’t like it. People like your self need to accept that in the same way.

Are you going to go around personally gagging them or something? It’s happening for a reason and it won’t stop until ENIC actually show real ambition on the pitch. End of story.

Don’t be a mug.

No, I don’t agree that Poch was finished. Levy ended the ‘project’ the ‘cycle’ without any logical reason by not backing him. He’s done the same thing with every manager over the last 20 years. As soon as we look decent he starts selling players and stops backing the manager.

He has hired and fired more managers than any other chairman and we have one wooden spoon trophy to show for it. If you feel not backing and then sacking Poch was a good idea then that’s your problem.
Not an opinion widely shared I hasten to add. I wonder why…

Do something about it then. Organize something. Be proactive. You’ll feel better. I did but it changed nothing. I hated Alan sugar more than you hate levy maybe. Was totally gutted when he sacked el tel. Stopped going to games for about half a season till I thought I’m not gonna let this w@n7€r stop me from loving my club. Started going again soon after. Its the same with ENIC/levy to me now. I won’t allow them to get between me and my club. FCK dem?

So all the achievements of the previous 5 seasons go out the window because of a poor run after not backing him to rebuild or refresh the squad? That makes complete sense, yeah it really does.

One League Cup in 20 years and you’re backing Levy’s policy on recruitment and sacking of managers? It’s worked so well hasn’t it?

You’re cherry picking the away form under Poch during a period after we signed nobody for a whole calendar year.

This suits your little anti-Poch narrative but in the wider world this is just a chairman not backing the best manager he’s ever had. If you want to try and justify that you’re either on the ENIC payroll or you get freebie tickets….

You can act like a mega fan all you want, that makes you the problem cos this is turgid and as long as people are happy with this and that rat sees people still turn up nothing will change. I despise that vermin, don’t much care for a manager who thinks you deserve to win without having a shot on target, and a list of players that needed to be moved on but never will because of said rat

Mourinho has the 7th best average points per game out of the 27 managers used in the PL this season. The football is boring but the facts are he has steadied a sinking ship and only Klopp,Pep,Frank,Rodgers,Ole and Arteta have done any better this season. They apart from Arteta are all longer at their clubs and have spent more funds on players. The improvement is factual even if invisible to the eye.

So we at least agree that poch was finished, had to go and Levy was right to fire him. In defence of poch he did a decent job, what was expected of him by Levy and the board. However his time was up he had a win ratio less than sherwood so he had to go in light of his failure to beat Liverpool in the final.

And, for a club with Champions League aspirations and one now settled into a world-class stadium, it is perhaps this final statistic that sealed Pochettino’s fate. Tottenham’s tally of 14 points is their lowest after 12 games of a Premier League season in 11 years
This was were we were under poch. This is why he was sacked. His record in the final year was terrible. He made it easy for Levy to sack him in the end. He threw in the towel. The lack of support beat him in the end. For those of you suggesting they should have backed him you are not understanding enic. It’s not about winning its all about the money nothing else. Jose was cheaper than replacing a team but the results in the last calendar year don’t lie. We were rubbish.

So when failure arises inevitably it will the finger needs to be pointed at the bloke that recruited Jack Clarke, gedson fernandes, and God knows what other clowns will arrive due to their being cheap. Taggart knew when it was time to move players on. Poch never had that luxury cos he knew nobody would be coming in to take their place. Same also applies to Jose now. But go and look at all managers for last 15 years. Ask for y and get z. Nobody can work under those circumstances, and all this anti poch stuff on here is boiling my urine. The man deserves massive respect for what he managed to do with empty transfer windows, and no home ground for nearly 2 years. Yes we I think we could have won a trophy, but the reason he failed is still there, and he is the single biggest problem. That and the fact half of these players are poo

With 25 points from their last 24 games, Tottenham have been in relegation-battling form for the last nine months.
Now can we please stop with the poch stuff. This is how it really was with poch at the end. I don’t like jose, did not want him but he is here and due to covid he will not be going away any time soon.

Yes enic and Levy. He had enough. He said had he won the CL final he might go. As it was loosing the final actually finished him. He could not motivate himself or the players. This also proves he had past his sell by date. He often said old red nose was his hero. He had a lot to learn because give ferguson that a defeat would have motivated him even more.
However that does not matter asbboth are gone and the future is well what it is.

Give it a rest jake. The players are to blame too. They failed poch or he failed them but they still have blame. By the way when poch was fired we were 14th in the league that was in November. Poch won nothing but managed to achieve a lot. As for Jose I never wanted him I was hoping for the leipzig manager in Germany. A younger fresher poch.

Elephant in the room, Emperor’s new clothes; whatever the metaphor – right now, Harry Kane is playing like crap and doesn’t deserve to start.

There is no movement, no runs, I can’t recall the last time he sprinted; everything is at a jog. Ironically the only game out of the last four he has performed in was the one we lost!

We are now basically playing with 10 men. Some sides are taking his threat seriously, but more and more his ineffectuality is being picked up and the extra marker he took out is free to roam. Like everyone else I love Harry to bits, but truth is, he should have been replaced at half time by Lucas.

Worse still is that our attacking tactics are almost solely based around him and his lack of movement reduces us to being hopeful or passing back to try again. Here’s an example (of hopeful): anyone who can check the last game, go to 69:30 (minutes) and we see Aurier charging down the wing with the whole penalty area to play a ball into but Kane along with our other “pace men” who should have been there to receive a pass and tap in were 15 yards behind the ball!

Now Aurier’s delivery is not always perfect, but fair play, the guy needs to either have someone to aim for or a runner, so he can play the ball into the space.

Kane appears to be falling into that Striker’s trap of waiting for something to happen, waiting for the ball that drops perfectly between the two defenders he’s hiding between, instead of making a positive run into space that players can read and feed.

You have to make your own luck! Instead, everyone is blaming the players around him for not creating sitters for him…… I mean wow…. peel the guy a grape someone!

We may have few options, but against a team of Championship level cloggers who are in the process of being vomited back to where they belong, a touted 150million quid striker should have been running rings around them!

Harry Kane is not playing because he is invaluable and the first name on the team sheet, he’s playing because his name is Harry Kane and no-one has the bottle to apply the metaphors above.

Sorry but you are wrong on my question. We were 14th it was after the Sheffield game we drew 1-1. Had we have been were you thought we were in the league maybe he poch might have lasted a little longer. No I’m not a fan of jose and his style I stated that. Pity you did not do your research or know poch as much as you let on. You asked why sack poch and upset the whole club. I would suggest with one of the worst away records in the league and sitting 14th yes not 9th something had to be done. Levy got it wrong. He should have went for a better manager who was not damaged goods which jose was and is. So there I answered your question and mine.

Eleventstonedidiots
Eleventstonedidiots

Levy is obsessed with the CL, its all he cares about. It’s why he threw £15m a year on a short term deal at Jose in a desperate attempt to retain our CL status. That isn’t going to happen now and I just don’t see how Jose goes from where he is now to challenging the top 4 next season. I know he was handed a lemon but there should be some evidence at this stage that players are beginning to buy into his management. I just don’t see it. There’s no shape or fluidity. We look unsure at the back and there’s no clever movement from the forwards. Kane & Son look lost. Most of our attacking play is coming down through the right flank via Aurier and his end product is terrible. We are so predictable. Surely we should be seeing signs of Jose’s stamp on the team? Or rather worryingly maybe we are.

The squad badly needed a facelift after many transfer windows of neglect. Remember, we went a whole calendar year without signing a single player. When we do get round to it we only buy players between the ages of 18- 22.

Poch didn’t get the time to rebuild, if Poch was in the same league position when sacked with the same players then Jose should be sacked too after this poor run. I’ll rephrase that; no manager should be sacked

East Stand

Reply to  Spursnut d

Were we 9th when Poch was sacked? Ok, but I’m not sure why that’s relevant to the point I’m making. Poch could do no more with the resources he was given after five seasons of overachieving with those already slender resources becoming more and more depleted and downgraded.

Jose is clearly doing no better with the same resources, so I come back to my point, why sack Poch rather than back him?

Many theories about that but balance sheets and lowest possible net spends over ambition to win are probably much to do with it.

I’ll be honest, I have never been a fan of Jose’s management style or the brand of football his teams play. However, with some fans screaming “he’s a winner” in my face i’m prepared to put the aesthetics of the game to one side. Let’s get all this winning done under Jose with Levy as chairman, I’d like to see it.

I haven’t seen it and neither do I expect to…

You did not answer my question. Where in the league were we when poch was sacked. He was sacked because he had given up. We were playing crap then too. We had one of the worst away records in the league. I’m not defending Levy or Jose but the fact is poch had had his time. It was great but we were falling like a stone. Poch knew it. That is why he was sacked as for your question the reason we are not much better league position wise than when poch left is because we appointed the wrong man.

Even Levy must see substantial money has to be spent. If there were crowds at the New Lane to watch this type of football I dread to think what the atmosphere would be like. If Levy is wise he has to relax his net spend and he has to bring in a player that shows Tottenham mean business, we might be on the ropes but we are coming out fighting. I don’t mean Hojbjerg, we should buy him as well, and not Willian or Coutinho but a top player. I can’t think of a name at the minute, that’s not my job. Somebody to give the troops a lift. Then he has to start to fill the positions we all know about, two full backs, a defensive midfielder, a centre back and another striker, not a back up striker I’m sick of that word, another striker. Do what you are so well paid to do and start lifting the gloom enveloping the club. Continue as we are and no joking we will be in a relegation fight next season.

Getting Jose was a statement from Levy…I thought it “may” work but the worrying thing is you cant see any progress or where any improvements will come from..Levy really has bitten off more than he can chew, yes he’s gone big with Jose, but that now seems like a bad judgement. You have to assume he thought it would be cheaper rather than going for a young hungry manager that would need time and money…ENIC really need European football income to pay the debt…its always about the investment, never football, however this time they may not be as lucky as they have been and getting rid of Jose is unaffordable…

Jose’s record in the past you can’t argue with but the past is the past. It’s ancient history and he would never have to come to work for someone like Levy unless his career had taken the downturn it has. He’s always a money manager at the top level and therefore not the right man for Spurs.

We currently have no footballing identity whatsoever, we are boring a d we aren’t even winning ‘boring’. If Levy isn’t thinking that he was a bad idea to sack Poch and replace him with Jose then he really is as weird as we thought…
