“Good commitment” – Antonio Conte has high praise of Tanguy Ndombele amid rumors of a departure

When Tottenham Hotspur spent €62 million (£55.45 million) plus up to €10 million (£8.97 million) in add-ons on Tanguy Ndombele, the north London club hoped to be getting a midfielder that would be an anchor in the position.

However, Ndombele has yet to live up to the price that Spurs forked over to Olympique Lyonnais in 2019. As a result, the France international has seen his name in various rumors, including swap proposals. Nonetheless, manager Antonio Conte still has some hope for the midfielder.

“Tanguy is showing a good commitment, a good attitude in training sessions,” Conte said at his news conference. “He has had an opportunity, a chance against Liverpool and then the second half against Chelsea.

“Probably he could play on Sunday in the FA Cup. I think every game is a good opportunity for every player that is not playing so much in the last period to show me that they deserve more consideration.”

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano recently took stock of Ndombele’s future with the north London club. He stated that there’s a “huge chance” that the midfielder departs this January window.

“I think for Ndombele, there are huge chances,” Romano said. “Let’s see if they can find an opportunity because also during the summer they wanted to sell him, but they were not able to find the right club.”

Ndombele has been at the center of reported swap deals that have been turned down due to the 25-year-old’s wages as his annual salary is deemed too rich for some clubs to take one, leading to these deals falling through.

Ndembele the spreadsheet Ozil..can’t stay on his feet can’t run, any due diligence would seen him stay in France. Another Olympique Lyonnaise gold medal for being the the most fakt over Chmn in the Prem…Daniel Levy..Not his money you see..no accountability… Never let a clown run the circus.

Tanguy is what happens when you have a business genius running your club.

He’s to Spurs what Bale was to Real Madrid, unsellable thanks to this ridiculous contract Levy has signed off on. At least Bale won multiple trophies while contributing when it mattered.

He’s welcome to every penny of this ludicrous contract and I for one will enjoy seeing Levy squirm these next few years while he runs it down, be that via loan deals where we continue to pay most of it each week, or some embarrassingly low sale price.

2025 we’ve got him til, better get used to it Levy!

I think it’s actually a fitness level thing that he cannot reach the level of fitness required for the premier league, but 200k pw is a massive issue. Even Kessie isn’t looking for that amount in his new contract (allegedly). It rules out most clubs except the biggest who will pay that, a swap deal with an Arthur maybe our best options. Though anyone who said we were mimicking the goonies might be right as we have our Ozil.

He may show something in training, but it has never materialised on the pitch. His attitude stinks from what I have seen and due to Levy’s brilliant business acumen and what appears to be a total lack of due diligence on the scouting team we are going to be left with this total waste of space and his 200K/wk salary until his contract runs out.Don’t we have enough of these wasters already?Levy really is delusional if he thinks he is the best, and his salary doesn’t make it so.

Everybody knows including him that the show is over, just throw his clothes out the window, it should be subtle enough.

Has anyone actually figured out what his best position is yet?

Anyway, I’ve had enough of him, look at how Sonny plays with a smile on his face, whereas this guy looks like being asked to run about for an hour is an absolute liberty. Just annoys me.
