Frank’s defensive trainwreck | Player ratings and the odd stat vs PSG

Tottenham fell to a thrilling 5-3 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes, with Randal Kolo Muani starring for Spurs in a two-goal, one-assist performance.
Despite leading twice, defensive errors from Cristian Romero and Pape Matar Sarr proved costly, allowing Vitinha to bag a hat-trick for the hosts.

Guglielmo Vicario 4 The history books will simply add another 5 goals conceded to his page. His passing or distribution, as we find ourselves calling it, is shocking at 59%; he should be replaced.

Djed Spence 4 Another one that has difficulty with the basics, like ensuring the ball only ever goes to teammates, 71% passing accuracy isn’t bloody good enough. Pressed well, but clearly thinks he’s a superstar.

Micky van de Ven 4 Another duff showing, is everything alright at home? Offered little defensively, failed to close down shooters, and provided minimal recovery with his pace. Poor overall in a chaotic backline.

Cristian Romero 3 Whose side was he on? I published this critique on him yesterday, and nobody read it. This fan base needs a check-up from the neck up. Sloppy passes led directly to two PSG goals, plus a handball penalty concession for the fifth.

Pedro Porro 4 two accurate crosses from 7 attempts, and a passing accuracy that was on par with The Vicar at 58%. Not good enough.

Pape Matar Sarr 5 A touch of the old Harry Winks – with most of his passing achieving the square root of nothing. Not good enough.

Rodrigo Bentancur 4 See Pape Matar Sarr. Lacked authority in deeper roles.

Lucas Bergvall 6 A 76-minute cameo, Yes, it was a good one, yes, he’s recovering from a head injury, but we were shortchanged.

Richarlison 7 ‘Just when I thought I was out… they pull me back in.’ Let’s get him sold before he gets sectioned again.

Muani 8 Outstanding. Who saw that coming? More, please.

This result leaves Tottenham in 16th in the Champions League standings with two wins from five games, highlighting attacking promise but defensive fragility under Thomas Frank.
