Former Tottenham player wants club to bring back Mauricio Pochettino after Chelsea sacking

Former Tottenham defender Danny Rose has named the manager he would like the club to appoint.

Spurs are currently managed by Ange Postecoglou who took over last summer.

The Australian has done a remarkable job in short time, and his impact has been seen on and off the pitch.

He immediately managed to lift the club with his positive energy and built a strong bond between the players and the fans.

The effect of that was observed on the pitch with every player giving their 100% under him.

The old players improved and the new signings all made instant impact.

The club went on a 10 game unbeaten run and were starting to be spoken about as potential title contenders.

However, they got hit by a string of injuries which ultimately ended up derailing their season, resulting in a fifth-place finish in the Premier League, narrowly missing out on Champions League qualification.

Despite the excellent Ange impact, Danny Rose has mentioned former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino as someone he would want the club to appoint.

Pochettino was sacked by the ruthless Todd Boehly after just one season at Chelsea and is currently out of job.

Rose who played under him while he was at Spurs has claimed that the Argentine has unfinished business at Tottenham.

Speaking on the The Spurs Show, Rose said:

“There were rumours that was what he was hoping for (a rebuild), but it didn’t happen. I’m a huge fan of Ange right now, but if Poch had been able to get what he’s inherited or whatever he’d still be at the club now.”

“I was gutted he left. They say you should never go back, but I believe he has unfinished business at Tottenham and hopefully he will go back.”

TBH Says:

During Pochettino’s tenure, Tottenham enjoyed sustained success, consistently finishing in the top four of the Premier League and notably reaching the final of the Champions League in 2019, where they were defeated by Liverpool.

However, we are currently in the Postecoglou era and there is nothing but positives to look forward to under him.

If and when Postecoglou is to leave, and if Pochettino is available, we can discuss his return then.
