Andros Townsend has revealed that he believes his former Spurs teammate Gareth Bale wishes he is back at Tottenham right now as he continues to struggle in Madrid.
The Welsh star moved from Tottenham to the Bernabeu in 2013 and he helped them to win multiple trophies.
However, he has fallen out of favour with the club’s current manager, Zinedine Zidane, and he spends a majority of his time on the bench.
He has been booed before by the club’s fans and he even angered those associated with them when he was caught on camera pretending to be asleep just before the end of the season.
This is a far cry from his time as a player at Tottenham when he had the freedom to do whatever he liked on and off the pitch and Townsend reckons that his former teammate will be wishing that he is back where he became a superstar.
Townsend told talkSPORT as quoted by Sun Sports: “I think if anything Bale wants to go back to Spurs.
“The memories of Spurs, his happiness… he was the main man, he was loved. He was at the top of his game.
“So, if anything I think it would work the other way.
“He would be like, ‘I wish I was at Spurs now and had the freedom to do whatever I want, to express myself and not worry about where I am now where I get scrutinised for playing golf.’”
Bale has won more trophies than zidane and ronaldo did… Our trophy cabinet in this time doesn’t exist!
😂 four champions leagues in five years. Over 20 odd trophies. Over half a million every week in the bank. I guess modric wishes to come back too with his 28 odd trophies…. Danny murphy, jamie o hara, andros townsend,,,, just stop… Bale will be hoping Zidane will be sacked (or leave) for the 4th time since he’s been there….. Would love him back, anytime, but it won’t be anytime soon.

They don’t boo in Spain they whistle, there was an interview where he talks about it on Twitter. 60,000 people whistling at you does nothing for your confidence he was saying.
Seems like every ex teammate of Gareth wants to tell us all what he will do with his future, they haven’t got a clue in reality, just pathetic.
