Everton tipped to land Spurs man in January

One player that has struggled to play for Spurs this season is Harry Winks.

The midfielder voiced his discontent at not playing regularly recently while on international duty.

That won’t change the situation for him if the players that are being picked ahead of him remain in top form.

He has been tipped to leave the club at the next available opportunity and Kevin Phillips reckons that the midfielder will leave N17.

Phillips states that he loves Winks and that he deserves to play more often than he is doing at the moment.

He then adds that several teams will be looking to sign him when the opportunity arises.

Adding that while he might not want to make the move across town to Arsenal, he can do a job for Everton if the Toffees cannot land Isco from Real Madrid.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the England international’s future, Phillips said: “I have always been a big fan of Harry Winks. I like the way he plays football. He is never afraid to get on the ball.

“If he was made available I think there would be many teams queuing up to take Harry Winks.

“Would he dare do make the switch across north London? I could see him in an Arsenal team but it would be a big call. We all saw what happened to Sol Campbell. Is it worth the hassle?

“Someone like an Everton could be good. If they were not to get hold of Isco perhaps Winks could play there.

“There will be a queue of teams looking to sign Harry Winks if he became available.

“I sympathise with him. He never lets the team down when he plays and credit to him, he wants to play football.

“It will be interesting to see if he gets the opportunity to go somewhere.”

Winks’ omission shows how talented the current Tottenham team is and fans can be confident that they can win a trophy.

He should stay. José values him but with everyone performing so well at present it’s hard to change anyone.
It’s a long season, THFC are still competing in 4 competitions so I’m sure he will get match time.

Winks is crazy leaving the side now – Jose trusts him enough that he’s ‘first reserve’ central mid.

He’ll get game time.

Leaving is a big risk, just ask Eriksen.
