Everton becomes the latest club rivalling Tottenham for Euro 2020 winner

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham has been linked with a transfer for Lorenzo Insigne in this transfer window as they continue to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.

The Lilywhites has hired Fabio Paratici as their latest director of football and he is looking to sign the best Serie A players for them in this transfer window.

They have already added Cristian Romero to Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad, but adding Insigne would be a major statement of intent from them.

The Napoli captain is one of the most popular Italian players at the moment and he just helped his country to win Euro 2020.

He is out of a contract at the end of this season and he hasn’t extended his deal yet.

Tottenham can tempt him with an offer that would be unrivalled by Napoli, but they are not the only club looking to sign him and Everton could beat them to bring him to England.

Italian journalist Luca Marchetti delivered an update on his future and claims that Rafa Benitez wants to be reunited with him at Everton.

Marchetti told Sky Italia as quoted by The Sun: “Real interest for Insigne comes from Everton, where Rafa Benitez is, and from Zenit Saint-Petersburg, and it’s necessary to verify how much Inter can do seriously.

“Inter made it clear that they were [also interested] with [similar] messages.”
