“Embarrassed To Be A Spurs Fan” – These Supporters Ashamed Of Dark Day

By Joe Fish -

Today, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has been let down – by its players, and by a group of its own fans.

The biggest game of the season so far, a chance to put down a statement under Jose Mourinho, and the team didn’t show up.

Unfortunately, some idiots in the crowd did, as Chelsea reported alleged racial abuse of defender Antonio Rudiger.

MORE: Spurs Fans Reported For Racially Abusing Antonio Rudiger

Instances like this are happening almost weekly now, in English football alone. You just never think it will be your club.

That is what hurts the most – more than the result – a deserved 2-0 victory for Chelsea thanks to a Willian brace. How will Davinson Sanchez, Moussa Sissoko etc feel walking off that pitch tonight?

Betrayed by their own fans – a very small minority, albeit.

This incident, a collectively hopeless performance and moments of individual stupidity, combined for a very dark day indeed.

These Spurs fans on Twitter were “enraged” and “embarrassed”.

So you want to keep one of the most violent players in the league?

A Belgian/Belgium Snake or two and One (of the worst players in a CL final) Of Our Own.

We got school by ManU, Who did they just lose to? We got schooled by Chelscum, Who did they lose to B4 us? We got schooled twice by Bayern, how are they doing?
It’s all about winning against the BIG Clubs, that’s the metric.

Poch’s fault? Yep that’s it, that’s the new metric.

Exposing a complete lack of flow and fluidity the build up and approach play is too slow and ponderous. Given the current dross at Mourinhio’s disposal I feel its time to draft Ryan Sessegnon into the side.

In need of a complete overhaul only 3 players I would keep – Aldy, Kane and Son.
All the others simply not good enough can be sold.
Lucky to beat Wolves. We shall probably struggle against improving Brighton.
Simply put devoid of any pace and creativity plus lack of leaders it’s an utter shambles.

I’m not seeing anything so far to suggest that Dier can still play DM at this level. He’s miles off the pace. I’ll hold final judgement another month or two, to allow him to reach full match-fitness. But it’s looking like his midfield days are over.

I’m not Jeremy Corbyn, I’m not going on some childish revolutionary campaign. However, sadly for you, blogs like this are a forum for one to vent their spleen.

I’ll keep moaning about ENIC because I believe the roots of tonight’s shameful performance came from dysfunction from the top. This group of players let Poch down in the end and now they might try and pretend that Jose has made everything ok.

I believe there is a fundamental problem with staleness and a lack of investment over the last few years. That buck stops with ENIC and it stops with Levy.

Yes tonight’s performance was pathetic, what’s the root of the problem? The players? The manager? The owners? Most dysfunction in any organisation comes from the top DD. Prove otherwise…

This toeing the company line that we don’t need any players in January and Jose wanting Jan and Eriksen to sign isn’t going to fix the “stale” squad problem….
How long is it going to be before we start saying “back the damn manager” again!!

Our defence had no idea who to pass to and when they did the ball came straight back….

FROM PREVIOUS BLOG

Get a grip, Easty you keep saying ENIC OUT ad nauseam. Whilst myself and others heard your the first time fully concur with your sentiments talk is cheap mate. For heavens sake have the courage of your convictions and be bold by doing something about it instead of repeatedly moaning which I am sure is within your capabilities by organising an on line Petition / demonstration!!!!

Totally outclassed and outplayed by a Chelsea side who perfectly controlled the match from start to finish was a horrible, painful, humiliating watch where our side lacking pride, passion and intensity for a local derby was a disgrace and totally unacceptable.

Just watched first goal, nice to see Dele Ali cowering away from the ball, overpaid waste of f&*#%% space he is. The atmosphere in that sh*thole is non existent.

RIP THFC.

More accusations of racism, with all the CCTV there should be no problem whatsoever in identifying the alleged culprit. Let’s see if they manage to find anything. I predict they won’t.

Well if ENIC fancy Europa League football carry on. That team without a midfield has no chance of securing Champions League football.

This line of not needing players in January is garbage. Chelsea are ahead of us and you can bet they’ll add players next month

Notice how Jose is playing Sissoko all the time when he ditched him straight away when he first arrived…doesn’t take long to know our squad is thinner than he first thought…

Like many others on this site, I have been supporting Spurs for a long time, in my case, since 1962. I have never felt so ashamed of our club. Anything is preferable to the regime of Enic, the vampire squid, and it’s obnoxious charlatan of a chairman.

It would be easy to turn on Mourinho but this is what comes of lack of investment in the team over many years. But at the very least the players could fight for every ball.

Donate a week’s wages to Shelter and other charities and apologize to Spurs fans for disgracing that shirt, and no Spurs fan will tolerate racism or hatred of any sort.

Until ENIC go I will only be partially interested in Spurs. 20 years is more than long enough to gauge where is the ambitions of these people lie. There is no amount of spin, excuses or PR that can come out of the club that will convince me otherwise.

To continue to make excuses for this charade defies any reasonable logic….

It would be more accurate to say that they have already killed the club!

An appalling display by our players and fans I just cannot understand how our players just don’t turn up for a game of this magnitude. We were completely flat, there is no incision in our passing, poor technique, lateral passing and there is little pace in the team. Maureen’s honeymoon is over.
