Double trouble? Arsenal plots hijacking of another Tottenham summer target

By Eddie Razo -

Arsenal has reportedly landed one target linked to Tottenham Hotspur in Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, and now they’re looking to land another. According to the Express, The Gunners are planning a fresh approach for Leeds United star Raphinha.

The English media outlet adds that Arsenal has set its eyes on the 25-year-old winger for their next move of the summer transfer market, having reportedly had a proposal of £50 million turned down last week.

Furthermore, the north London side has held talks with Leeds United over the Brazil international amid the interest from Spurs and Barcelona. After avoiding relegation, Leeds United can command whatever price they seem fit for their star player.

Tottenham wants to be able to add scoring depth behind their two star players in, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. Nonetheless, Arsenal has Raphinha as their top target, so it will be interesting to see whether Spurs want to get into a bidding war with their rival or focus their attention elsewhere.

Think LFC may try and sneak Raphinha..of all the clubs seemingly chasing that would seem to be the one where he fits best.

Agreed Werner leaving Chelsea will make them a better team wether they replace him or not.

If you are realistic about the Jesus situation, it’s damn obvious that the reason he is leaving City is because he wants to be the main man somewhere. He’s already a squad player at the Champions, so why would he move to Tottenham to be behind Kane and Son? He’d stay at City in that situation, unless he/his partner were desperate to live in London. Arsenal have sold Aubameyang and released Lacazette, so he can be the main man there.

I don’t buy it that Spurs ever saw Jesus as a realistic target. It was just media froth. Only makes sense of any kind if they were selling Kane and/or Son.

Can we just drop the charade that Jesus was ever a Spurs target? Based on absolutely nothing other than the guy leaving City, and so called pundits needing to manufacture storylines.

Posted the same yesterday, that if we miss out it would be Chelsea changing course to make him the number one. They have a lot over there to they want to ship out. Ziyech, werner, Pulisic amongst them. So they will have more space and money to pay the $65m. Not sure he worth that but, the market is what it is.

He’s more a Chelsea style dick – we need some tbh, ‘nice boys FC’ hasn’t won us anything

Richarlison is talented, sure. but he’s a bit of a dick. dicks usually fit in better with the Arse.

last time we played Arsenal we won 3-0. Perhaps they need to pay equal attention to their defence. Going after Jesus and Raphinha sounds more sensational than sensible to me. Anyway, more concerned about our business tbh.

Werner now potentially leaving Chelsea does worry me here, a spot for Richarlison has opened up.

Hopefully Sterling fills it but who knows. He could stay one more year at City.

Far more worried about Chelsea trying to gazump the Richarlison deal, he’d fit our squad very neatly.

Raphinha is a great player but unfortunately doesn’t majorly suit our system.

Arsenal entered the summer needing about 7 or 8 first team players so they can build whatever system they want.

We had only 4 or 5 starting spots up for grabs (at most) so we know what we need a lot more. Still not sure where Raphinha would fit in.

Not sure Raphina is a top target for us.
