Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a double raid on Turkish giants Galatasaray as they continue to bolster their squad.
The North London club has shown strong interest in Dutch center-back Victor Nelsson, according to a recent report from Turkish outlet Aksam. Tottenham are said to be the “biggest suitor” for the 24-year-old defender.
Galatasaray’s vice president, Erden Timur, has been spending significant time in London to finalise deals with clubs such as Tottenham and Chelsea.
Timur ‘met with Tottenham officials’, as reported by journalist Zeki Uzundurukan via GS Gazete, to discuss the potential transfers of both Victor Nelsson and Sacha Boey.
The Turkish club informed them that the duo would cost around €50 million.
According to Sport Witness, Nelsson has a €25m release clause which means Galatasaray are valuing the right-back at a similar price.
Additionally, there were previous reports suggesting Tottenham’s interest in long-term target Nicolo Zaniolo.
However, that seems unlikely due to Tottenham’s recent signing of James Maddison and Zaniolo’s preference for a move back to Italy.
Tottenham have been busy in the transfer market, already securing the signings of Dejan Kulusevski, Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, and Manor Solomon.
The club is expected to focus on strengthening their defense and has been linked with center-backs such as Micky van de Ven and Edmond Tapsoba.
While both players are appreciated by Tottenham, it is believed that the club will ultimately choose to pursue one of them.
The potential departures of Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez from Tottenham would also create space for further signings in defense.
As new manager Ange Postecoglou aims to rebuild the team, Tottenham are likely to continue their pursuit of defensive reinforcements in the coming weeks.
