“Don’t you even dare not back this man” Tottenham’s fans react to win against Leeds United

By Bruce Grove -

It’s easy to see that Tottenham fans enjoyed the comeback win against Leeds United this afternoon.

It seemed it would be a familiar outcome when Leeds took the lead at the Tottenham Stadium through Dan James just before halftime.

However, Spurs mounted a second-half comeback and goals from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Sergio Reguilon were enough to complete a 2-1 win.

Antonio Conte now has his first league win as Spurs manager and the Italian was at his passionate best on the touchline throughout the match.

Fans could see what he is trying to achieve at Spurs and the players also appeared to be buying into his method.

The Lilywhites posted about the result at full-time on their Twitter account and fans filled the comment section with their reactions.

As you would predict, most of it is positive as they back Conte to get the club back among England’s top teams.

Here are some of the best reactions:

I, too, am not sure about Danny boy’s willingness to change his modus operandi and, yes, some significant spending is required, for sure.

That report said Spurs have a massive spending capability over the next 3 seasons
it may have even been double that of teams above us.
So no excuses any more but I think we are ok Conte wouldnt have signed without promises of refreshing the team properly.

H’s video on Friday explained why Conte wanted 18mth contract. Gives 3 transfer windows to make Conte feel supported. It will be about direction but some players you might want moved on maybe still here then

Yes, he has lost some athleticism, compared to 3 or 4 years ago, which is another reason why he should have been sold.

Kane did look slow a few times this match.

Not a lack of effort, just slow. He’s a canny player, he adjusts his game, but a couple of times he couldn’t paper over the fact…he was just too slow.

Central defender, playmaker, back up forward – at least two of those signings in January thanks

I couldn’t agree more. However, as we all know, it doesn’t mean to say that Levy is going to do the right thing. In fact I don’t expect Levy to change his operating basis at all, even though Conte absolutely deserves backing to the hilt.

Let’s face facts, this squad is not close to top 4 material. A back three of Davies, Dier, Tanganga is mid-table mediocrity at best, there is no creative midfield general and the squad is wafer thin. Plus Harry, although he tried harder, is still misfiring and unarguably past his prime.

In summary, without major expenditure and radical surgery to our central defence, our midfield, plus a top-quality back-up striker, this team ain’t challenging for squat! That’s the reality, we are miles off the quality of the top 3. So, funding needed! Over to you Captain Cheese Room!
