Do not feel sorry for Danny Rose, he is doing just fine

By Bruce Grove -

Reports have emerged that Danny Rose is training with the “kids” at Tottenham and for some, that is disrespectful to a player that has given decent service to the club down the years.

Personally, I disagree with that sentiment, I never thought he was a good defender and that he has brought all his misfortune on himself with his huge mouth.

I cannot feel sorry for a man that is kicking a ball around, even with teenagers receiving close to £10k a day and who will likely make a few million in signing on fees when the club do finally offload him.

Rose is training with the youth lads simply because of his attitude, his big mouth, his disruptive behaviour and poor performances on the pitch.

If he had been a top-class defender then he could have got away with the way he conducts himself but the simple truth is that at best, he was simply mediocre.

I know that opinion is not shared by everyone and that is fine, there is nothing wrong with a disagreement between fans but the fact is that Rose no longer has a future at Spurs, he has no legacy and the quicker he goes the better it is for everyone.

If anything it is the kids I feel sorry for having to put up with him.

25% of the best defence in Europe in the season we were runners up, but he was “never a good defender”.

Oh Brucie, you’re handling of logic requires a little work perhaps.

H, the claim made is that Rose at his best was mediocre. In my experience that is an opinion unique to Bruce.

Aaron didn’t realise the jig was up with Spurs — and went on for years more with other clubs.

He has depression, which is not brought on by one issue like envy. Not applying your own psychology here are you?

His Legacy was scoring that 40 yard thunder cracker against Arseanal with Lehman in goal.

Oh no, at best Danny Rose was an excellent FB and for a couple of seasons he and Kyle Walker were the best FB tandem in the Premier league. To be honest, even in the disappointing performance overall, which we gave in the Champion’s League final, Danny was still our best player.

Unfortunately injury and some mental health issues took the edge off Danny’s game and he never recovered the same level of performance after his injury. When Mourinho arrived, he evidently preferred Ben Davies at LB. I disagree, but I have watched every game both players have played for Spurs, rather more than Mourinho!

Danny has been a great servant to the club, is our longest serving player and always gave 100% for the shirt. It’s genuinely a pity that he is leaving in this manner, but such is life, shit happens, Danny deserves to be remembered fondly, for his wonderful goal against Arsenal and for two or three seasons at least he was a top quality FB for us.

Danny just wanted to be appreciated financially. He knew his worth and was getting half that. Anyway he’s gone nearly. I’m sure most will wish him well.

The thing that injured him most was not getting signed by Man City. Psychologically he was in a wheelchair after Walker left.

Rose never lifted any silverware, and when playing for England (over a period of just under a decade) Rose only totted up c.1800 minutes across some 29 appearances – which for contrast, even Tanguy managed 1100 in his first full season at Spurs, and he didn’t play!

The history books will not record Rose as a footballing great.

Nothing personal on the boy, but Danny was only occasionally exciting, and in the great tradition of Spurs fans ‘made up folklore’, he’s right up there with Aaron Lennon and Tom Huddlestone – who also didn’t realize when the jig was up.

Lay off danny rose. So he’s been p!$$€d with his employers and they’re pissed with him. This happens at work places. Nuttun wrong with danny rose as a man. If I’m working for a company and I’m the best welder in my position then a loada rubbish welders come in getting more slightly less or the same money as me I’d be pisd too. We all would. Danny rose alright man. Sh!£ hot welder🌚. Oh and as for working with the kids I bet they all love it. I’ve met danny several times from at Tottenham sports center new river sports centre and the Selby center. Danny’s kool man. Dry humor. Decent table tennis player good pool player.

This ‘Grove character’ is a very good pal of mine, an excellent writer and a very long time fan of the club. but more to the point I’ve said far worse about Rose before now, and I don’t recall you pulling me up on it!

I can only presume you’re being very selective about Danny, remembering all the good bits several seasons ago, and ignoring all the awful bits since, of which some I might add are now recorded forever and ever on tape.

By all means make a counter argument to whatever is posted, but play the ball and not the man, please.

Darth maul or vader or which ever he is I love the way he called them out on Sunday sadly players hate that. Think that was a bit of a kick back tonight with a very average performance.

All them years of good service cancelled out for saying what everyone else was thinking. I think he’s been treated terribly. That’s just my view.

Yeah, he had absolutely no compunction about deploying the dark arts or complaining and playing the victim. If those personality traits appall you god knows what you must make of Mourinho.

So he didn’t dive or mouth off then he was just injured. The amount of free kicks and the odd penalty from his diving was embarrassing. The thing was he was a decent all round player and at times when he wanted to was very good but the diving and the I’m a victim stuff really. I’ve been threatened with being burnt in work hell get on with it man it’s what you get paid for and a dam sight more than I do.

He was injured for 18 months when at his peak. I know it’s a long time ago to be able to remember.

Danny Rose the art of falling over and always being the victim. He dived, he mouthed and sometimes he played good football. So long if you had been that good you would have left soon after walker.

Why this sneering clown Grove is allowed to pollute this blog with his ill-informed drivel is a mystery. I know Harry can’t be expected to run the joint by himself, but this Grove character is rapidly destroying any desire to visit this site. Rose at his peak was easily the best LB in the prem.
