Giovani Lo Celso really came alive for Spurs last night, providing a harrowing example to Christian Eriksen in particular, of what fans expect from creative midfielders.
This clip sums up the Argentinian’s performance well. We saw drive, ambition and a quite masterful control of the ball. The 23-year-old achieved a passing accuracy of 90%, only misplacing 6 balls all night. The sooner the loan from Real Betis is announced as a permanent deal, the better for all concerned.
More, please.
Your are right about Tanguy and his passing ability but I’m a bit worried we bought a player who is either injury prone or has an attitude issue. I sincerely hope it’s not attitude…
I agree that Lo Celso gave his best performance but overall that was a shockingly poor display. We struggled to beat a side firmly rooted at the bottom of the table at home in what is stated as one of the best stadiums in the world. It just amplifies the gulf between real estate development and the owners interest in the football club development. Mourinho has clearly been given the script sheet from Levy as his soundbites are becoming increasingly Poochesque with each presser. Moura is not a striker to lead the line. He has to be played wide on the right. Son is probably the best bet at present in a central role and Ali needs to play where he is most effective and that is just off the front man to the left and coming in from the blindside picking up long balls across the box. Play LoCelso in behind on the right side with Ndombele on the left. DM is still a problem ? What exactly is Gedson? Is he an attacking mid or a defensive mid ? He looks lightweight to be a ball winner. Maybe more a transition player linking the play. Who the hell is this Willian Jose guy that apparently we are looking to buy as cover for Kane. The usual cheaper bargain bucket option by Levy yet again?
I agree a midfield starring Lo Celso and NDombele could be pretty special. Need to get them both fit and on form.
I was at the game last night and much of the crowd around me were singing his praises. He’s certainly appreciated by the fans, let’s hope he’s appreciated as much by Mourinho and Levy. Isn’t he cheaper if we sign him in January?
We can sign him this month for 32mill I think or 40 in summer (numbers may not be right)
He is refreshing , shows a real desire and commitment to play here, get a ball winner alongside him like a fully fit N’dombele maybe, and things look promising again. Is the fee set in stone or negotiable, such as number of appearances etc. ?
I thought that Tanguy had started to play some passes like that, but he has been very hit and miss. GLC has been on the ball and on the ball since getting the nod. BUY BUY BUY!!!
he is already drawing a lot of fouls – Watford I’m not sure he touched the ball more than twice before getting clattered.
a good sign, the oppo are wary of his ability already
Just love the incisive passes, haven’t seen that from any Spurs player in a while. He possesses those Messi like abilities. Sign him up!!!!!
ref should have played advantage and got the boy in down the wing….
He’ll be like a new signing, get him in your Baldness.
Sign him up I say..
