Hojbjerg’s interceptions versus Ipswich Town
A successful passing accuracy of 94% from a man in a Spurs shirt would normally be a cause for a Harry Winks snooze fest. This was only Ipswich, but what a refreshing sight to behold, a new signing who arrives with no backstory, no inexplicable hang-ups, just a desire to win. Some Tottenham fans will be utterly confused by this lunacy.
Great Dane? Pierre won 67% of his duels against the Portman Road boys. That’s pretty damn respectable, no matter who the opposition might be. For debut performance, this was an unashamedly confident display from the 25-year-old.
The acquisition of Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has been nothing shy of an absolute coup. Ignoring the exceptional value, this Dane typifies the very essence of a José signing. For those in two minds, I suggest you enjoy this post-friendly interview where the Spurs new-boy talks like a seasoned captain.
No you are mistaking me for someone that gives a f##k.
Ok Dan thanks for the update I still think you are a runt though
You tried that one 25 days ago, when I told you Southampton wanted £35m for Hojbjerg ,then it was £25m ,and I said Levy would probably get him for £15m or include Kwp in the deal. Next.
I want to see how high he can kick Aubab..Abaukn,,,,Ababoyng….that *rsenal player into the air
Have a think about what you have put there Dan
Snap!
PEH has been brought in to give him a clip round the ear if he starts messing about?! 😂
I agree, besides I just can’t see the club giving up on him yet after one season. In flashes he looks like a player who has the ability to dominate games at this level. He needs his role and to take responsibility, grow up or whatever needs to happen.
Oh🌚
That was a World Cup,with the Republic of Ireland. Big Jack never had to buy another drink in Ireland after that, and fished were ever he liked.
Never knew that. Actually didn’t jack Charltons n Ireland get to one too? Or maybe that was a euros
Possibly in Sweden 1958 long time ago, they drew with West Germany on the way to the quarters.Gerry Armstrong also scored the winning goal to knock the hosts out in Spain in 1982
Northern Ireland got to a quarter final in a world cup?
Danny is still remembered as a Northern Ireland great leading them to the quarter finals of a World Cup,also as one of the best ever captains of Tottenham. Good on you for giving him a shout out.
We coulda stuffed’m but they said if we didn’t they’d give us first dibs on any future gems🌚
They are only part timers,I watched the footage recently online somewhere.
I hate when we go easy on lesser teams🌚
Ended in a draw.
Hope we never went easy on the glens and put 10 past them🌚
Danny lied about his age so he could join the RAF.
His first team Glentoran in east Belfast close to were he was born play Motherwell in the next round of Europa league matches this week. Spurs came over for a friendly game with the glens after winning the FA cup I think in 1981
So do we all, who wouldn’t let’s be honest…
My dad loved him. My dad was a RAF man too. (Engineer
Read in a little autobiography Danny wrote that he took a degree in Aeronautics at St Andrews University and served in the RAF. Highly intelligent as a footballer and journalist, well ahead of his time. His brother Jackie also a Northern Ireland International player for Manchester United was injured in the Munich Air crash and never played again.
I’ll say it again. “I rate that. Respect to them man.
Let’s hope a freshen up with a few good characters like PEH will improve the mindset of those around him?
The energy came from Poch before but we lacked leadership on the pitch. No matter who the manger is, having players with a great team ethic and leadership qualities certainly can’t hurt.

Living the past, living in the past…
Some spurs fans went and spruced up danny blanch’s grave stone. I rate that. Respect to them man.
Having read this blog for donkeys yers I must say I am very much enjoying your air of positivity at the moment H. Let’s hope its well placed!
Maybe he could ask N’dombele if he’s onboard,if not ,it’s time to jump ship we can’t afford to carry luxury passengers.
A player we have been crying out for for years.
Love this comment!
As well.
Yeah I like PEH – no glamour just grit and a desire to get stuck in for the team. Looking forward to seeing Ndombele and Lo Celso benefit
Milinkovic-Savic
We must. A happy him will be a dangerous dangerous player.
He didn’t look that bothered under Poch either,we can’t afford to hope that he comes good.
He always takes on one man too many and loses control followed by a lunge/tackle.
Please don’t pray for that. Pray for him and Jose sorting it out (what ever “it is.
Wonder if Lamela could play that role, serious question…
I believe at academy level he played further up, maybe he’s not good enough at this level but coaches like him so try him further back I guess..
I 🙏 Everyday that N’dombele is sold and we have proper money £45m ? to find a replacement
He had to do the dirty work recovering the ball etc, with such high pass rate can he now not be freed up beside Hojbjerg and coached into playing the forward ball more often.
N’dombele, Dier, Sissoko…i was a big fan of Winks but we have to move on, I can’t stand watching him spin and pass the ball backwards anymore
Who covers if Hojbjerg gets injured and we can’t expect him to play all the games
Winks is the same as Alli, they make two good passes a game and everyone forgets how crap they’ve been for the rest of the game…
Are we crediting this signing to Jose? I thought Levy made all the transfer decisions,or is it just the bad ones.
The real deal, all we need to do now is sell Winks so we don’t get confused…
