Lo Celso has been outstanding, Winks busy and tidy, Dele wasteful until he scored, Aurier decent, Moura hard working, Lamela woeful.

Dele Alli has been wasteful today. Too many missed opportunities.

Dele Alli and “wasteful” go hand in hand in the minds of some Spurs fans.
Some, incorrect fans, mind you, when it comes to the wastefulness of his finishing at least. Sky Sports research shows that the opinion-splitting 23-year-old has the best conversion rate of any midfielder in the Premier League this season at 20%, scoring eight goals from 40 shots taken at goal.
Watch and enjoy Dele’s expert finishing this season in the below video. The goals against Manchester United and Brighton are particularly outstanding.

Rashford? Or Bent? 😆… Dele has to be worth more than 100 million if coutinho went for 150… Judging yesterdays prices anyway.. Im presuming the money will still be in the game when it all restarts.. He can frustrate me too at times flittering in and out a game being tricksy.. But he’s well worth having on the pitch, can produce moments of magic out of nothing. Kane and son and dele I just wouldn’t sell, would build around those 3 keeping them happy, looking for a strong spine down the middle next, and then sort out the wingbacks.. Also need a striker to compliment and back up kane.. So much talk among the yid faithful that we should be selling our best players. We have gone backwards yet again because we are a selling club. With poch, Levy pretended to be a big club for a while. Refused to sell alot. But he also refused to buy anyone and look what happened.
It’s an important stage in his career now, To use a musical metaphor, we need that ‘difficult third album’ from him. He had the initial wonder kid phase to get in the side regularly at 19, then he went on and put in some big match performances for club and country.
Has he been helped by the loss of direction of the side over the last 12-18 months? The loss of form of those around him too?
He has a particular role in the side and when he plays that role in a functioning team he’s a quality player and finisher. His flicks and tricks are how he learned to play on the gravel courts of MK. Playing FIFA with his mates and trying to replicate the moves, it’s a big part of his game and confidence.
Perhaps needs to evolve his game a bit now, towards what will be supposedly his peak years. We’ll just have to see. The stats prove quality playing at the top level.
Levy will want him in form before collecting his profit on the 6m he paid MK…
ENIC OUT
Love this. Thanks joe. And this is Dele having a bad season as well… Hes the youngest english midfielder to hit 50 goals and did it fast, only 2 games less than Son.. Hes only 23.. Beckham and lampard were 26. Scholes 27.. Hes only beaten by young english strikers like owen and smith… He also scored them quicker than Hazard who was in a title winning club….. Yet loads of helmets online are saying Deles wasteful! 🤦♀️
I’d swap ya for marcus and £80mil
Dele’s goal scoring record is more than commendable, but he infuriates me as he flicks his way out of trouble to no effect on too many occasions and forever wants to nutmeg. He definitely needs to be played higher up, just off the 9 to get the best out of him, but when he does he becomes more of a forward than a midfielder, so his 20% stats needs to improve. When he starts showing consistency in his ball retention I’ll be less critical. No one is perfect and the fact that he can improve massively is good for Spurs. He hasn’t got pace to burn to get out of trouble so he has to play more one/two touch football. I want desperately to remember this lad as a Spurs Great rather than Ross Barkley’s and Jesse Lingaard’s drinking mate.
Dele. Do all your tricky flicky things after you’ve put us two up. I’d still sell ya dele. All day long for the right money.
No doubting his talent, he just needs to sharpen his game and cut down on the the flicks most of which don’t come off. Somebody said that Ronaldo’s game leapt to the next level when he stopped the dribbling and showboating and made goalscoring his focus.
