Dele Alli Fishing For Compliments As Spurs Travel Without Him… Again

By The Boy -

Dele Alli is toast. I had been suggesting this for some time, and now I’m positively predicting it. The 24-year-old didn’t travel up to Burnley last night, according to The Athletic. Alli’s response to this was to post a video of his 50th goal for Tottenham, entitled ‘Good times’. Needless to say, fans using Twitter did their thing and ploughed in with the usual selection of ‘chin up’ and ‘stay strong’ bunkum, which will probably comfort the lad somewhat. However, Dele is going to engineer a bigger reaction in order to get his failing career back on track.

In this week’s show (below) we discuss Alli’s demise and it doesn’t vaguely look like a situation that might resolve itself. In fact, I make the point that if you wanted to damage our chances of Spurs winning tonight, then putting Alli in the starting XI.

We will just have to wait and see, Jose loves a scapegoat of a player here and there, Eden Hazard even at one point!

I don’t take much notice of social media. I don’t trust it as a means of judging anything other than the decline of civilization… 😂

Ok yes, can’t be arsed with the deliberate obtuseness anymore.
I’ve read his page & all the sycophantic replies he hoped for, positively nauseating claptrap.
Nail on head….IF he WAS playing well – he’s NOT!
José’s point IS lost on him!

(You can speak to, teach & educate a man with a wooden leg but can’t to a man with a wooden head!)

Jose likes the whole team apart from the front three or four to sit and be regimented. Dele is too off the cuff at his best, Jose even went off Hazard. He doesn’t like players that have their own style of play going on. He give instructions and he wants them stuck to.

Possibly why Lo Celso isn’t getting picked either, nobody talking about that though. He’s fit and training, I’d have him in over Moura all day long…

I have a full pack, I just don’t have them all jumbled up.

Would any other player not retweet a landmark of 50 goals if their club posted it up? Is he supposed to go and crawl under a rock and hang his head in shame because he’s not getting picked or something?

The club posted up the landmark against Burnley and whoever runs his SM retweet’s it. If he was playing well and in the team nobody would bat an eyelid at this.

Nothing to see here for me, sorry…

PS. The club post numerous things across all their social media of the goals, etc against our next opponents, they’re NOT helping Dele ‘garner sympathy’
Official tweet on ‘spursofficial’ RE-posted on Dele’s page – for HIM to attain sympathy! (Good Times (….but not so now?))

Sorry, not sure you’re ‘shuffling with a full deck!’
A RE-post, ON DELE’s PAGE, (for sympathy) with an ADDED comment which could be construed as barbed.
Better to have simply ‘liked’ the ORIGINAL post than RE-POST & ADD a possibly snide, defiant remark & maybe further alienating himself from the manager.

Why would the club help Dele garner ‘sympathy’ when the manager they brought in isn’t playing him? It looks pretty much like an official THFC tweet to me.

There is no agenda in the tweet or the response as far as I see it, although a bit of mischief from HH, who thinks he’s been found out and high maintenance with it. He might be right, time will tell…

If you were aware of that why did you make the point that Dele shouldn’t be on social media looking for attention?

As an official club tweet, either he or whoever helps him run his SM will have surely been obligated to partake in some kind of response.

If he’d have tweeted something like “great times, back when my manager helped me rather than freeze me out” I could understand it.

Trouble with all social media is that it’s just sound bites, you can bolt on any ‘subtext’ you like to fit whatever narrative…

I think Dele is at a big crossroads but talk of him being finished are for me, premature. He might not ever make it work under Jose but the season is long.

There’s used to be images of Tanguy with a massive cheeseburger superimposed in front of him. Deemed far too much of a layabout for the uber winner… Now he’s one of the first on the team sheet

Things can change very quickly in football.

There was uproar when the 3 bar packs came out. Almost a mutiny.

1. It is true. Done for sympathy votes!
2. RE-posted & comment.
3. ‘Agent’ or proxy = person responsible for HIS social media if not done by himself, that is NOT, quite obviously, THFC!
4. IF a veiled dig it was very unwise & beyond stupid!
(Thought it clear what I originally posted?)

There is a player in Deli – I think the problem he has is his style of play. In my opinion he is more suited to European football, so unless he matures or changes his game he will struggle in Jose’s Spurs… I hope it works out…

Ok, the headline of this IS true, the social media RE-POST & comment is for his followers to comment & sympathise with him.
José said in interview last week about social media & how Son HM doesn’t use it for ‘having smoke blown up his arse’ nor to gain popularity, nor for self promotion outside of football, etc.
So IF Dele or his ‘agent’/proxy (= the person who does HIS social media for him – that is NOT, quite obviously, THFC) have done this as a veiled dig, it was entirely unwise & beyond ridiculously stupid!

To my knowledge the lad is training well and has taken his setback on the chin. He deserves some support. I hope he trains hard and comes back with a bang.

Hang on, aren’t Spurs the universal cure for porous defenses and goal scoring droughts?

I’m going to post Dele some cement so he can sprinkle it on his cornflakes and harden up.

Insofar as the tweet goes, it’s just a memory and Dele’s heading the same way.

HH’s headline is not true and he didn’t post a video of himself. His employer did and he commented, now he’s toast Bc of a Veiled dig. You were aware of it then called the club his agent/proxy. What was the point again?

Bit harsh for me. I feel sorry for the kid. And he is a kid in a man’s body. I just cant help thinking he will flourish but probably not under Jose.

This is exactly one of the reasons José is not impressed by him at present, if ever at all.
Social media is the last place Dele (his ‘agent’ or proxy) should be focusing his attention on, given José commented on such last week & this message could be viewed as a veiled dig?
All he need do is knuckle down, work hard & get back to the Dele that José wants, ‘the boy with a bit of attitude, swagger & devilment’ (but in a controlled, “intelligent cnut” manner) that he was when he first signed for THFC.

This is one of those things that I dont want him to be,but, Harry is right.

Why Dele isnt smart enough to listen to Jose is a mystery.

Will Dele get another 50 premier league goals?

We were saying that about Ndombele quite recently too. Maybe our resident marriage guidance councillor Mr Levy will step in and sort it all out.

I am going on Twitter next to tell him to keep his “chin up” & to “stay strong”.

He looks superfluous in the “New Tottenham Model”.

Its hard to see a way back for Delli. You do have to wonder if in training he pulls his finger out and is trying to turn it around or if he is doing the typical “not my fault, why should I change” attitude.
