“Decision is basically made” – Transfer Insider claims Ange Postecoglou has decided to sell one of Spurs’ most ‘reliable players’

Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is expected to be sold this summer according to transfer Insider Dean Jones.

It’s been previously reported that the qualities of the 27-year-old may not suit the style of play Ange Postecoglou wants to instill which has put a question mark on his future at the club.

He joined Spurs in 2020 after impressing the club with his performances for Southampton.

And since joining he has been one of Spurs most consistent and reliable players in the midfield.

But with him now reportedly not in Postecoglou’s plans, Spurs are looking to cash in on him.

When asked whether Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is expected to be sold this summer, Jones told Chasing The Transfer:

“Yeah, I do. The writing is on the wall there. I think a decision is basically made. I don’t really have much more to add to that one.”

And Graeme Bailey added that he was one of the first players that the manager decided to sell after his appointment. He said:

“He was one of the first ones who I think Ange had decided he could do without. He’s on a relatively big deal. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him linked to Saudi. He’s probably old enough to go there now.”

Tottenham will be able to receive decent money for him considering his good form and the fact that he has 2 years left in his current contract.

Selling him would also free up substantial wages that could further boost Tottenham’s transfer kitty as they continue their summer rebuild.
