“Danny is very happy here” Southampton respond to Ings speculation following Tottenham link

By Bruce Grove -

Southampton is confident that they will not lose Danny Ings to Tottenham this month.

The Englishman has become linked with a move to Spurs as he continues to delay signing a new contract at Saint Marys (Eurosport).

His form for the Saints has caught the attention of several top European teams, and Tottenham is one of them.

Spurs signed Carlos Vinicius in the summer, but he is yet to convince enough to earn minutes in the Premier League.

Ings, on the other hand, has been banging in the goals in the Premier League for a long time and has good experience in the competition.

With the reports of him leaving constantly in the news, Saints’ CEO Martin Semmens has reiterated that Ings isn’t leaving, and the striker is happy to remain with them.

He said that conversations with the former Burnley star have been professional, and he is confident that the striker will stay with them.

‘The conversations have gone on and we have had talks with Danny, they’ve been 100 percent professional,’ Semmens told BBC Radio Solent

‘Danny is very happy here, he wants to stay with the club and we have enjoyed having him.’
