Daniel Farke Doesn’t Sound Entirely Optimistic About Extending Skipp’s Loan

By The Boy -

No two ways about it, Oliver Skipp’s loan at Norwich City has been a success. Frequently seen as the man of the match by Canaries fans, the now 20-year-old has been a significant factor in the club’s promotion back into the Premier League.

Gaffer Daniel Farke’s recent comments to the press after it was confirmed his side would be going up sounds to me more like a farewell than anything else.

As we shared with you yesterday, a source close to the club understands that Steve Hitchen has advised that Oliver Skipp is returned to Tottenham for the start of next season’s campaign.

Has Skipp’s education been completed? To a large extent, I would say that it has, there are still five more Champions ship games to complete and Ollie’s has been a long campaign. Personally, I’d prefer to see how he reacts for Norwich in the top flight, but as we all know, we don’t live in an ideal world.

Farke then leaves for a big club when he gets as far as he can under Desperate Dan

Agreed. Even playing him in a struggling group like this may be a backward step. A season in the Prem at a team with little expectation – Norwich not us! – may be best for Spurs long term.

Pointless bringing the lad back, unless the intention is to give him plenty of game time, including a decent number of starts. If not, he’d be much better off continuing his development with Norwich.

Cannot wait for the ENIC spin to announce this as a new signing

We need Skippy back – as long as we play him. Maybe we can offer Norwich Sissoko, Winks and Dier plus £20m for Buendia too?

I actually mentioned this in a comment yesterday that i was suprised his name is never thrown around with the other so called candidates! With the football Norwich play and the way he has handled and developed Skipp makes him a better bet than Parker for sure!

I think we need him back. If only to push Sissoko out the door.

Nope, a quick Google confirms it’s the former. And the likeness is scary!

I wonder if Skipp was actually a Norwich player and playing as well as he is would Levy even be thinking of signing him.

Technically does that mean Spurs have won a medal – I’ll take it!

If those words quoted are true I would say Farke is just being respectful towards Spurs by not pushing the possibility of extending the loan for another year.

I’ve already said my opinion is that he should stay with Norwich to experience the PL by playing each week which is likely with them, rather than making the odd appearance from the bench for us and losing his momentum. He’s still young and needs regular games to develope further.

He should start alongside PEH or Tanguy in our midfield if he comes back. This year of constant football will need to continue for his development, if not he may as well stay at Norwich. Good club, well run…

Why not bring Farke in as well as Skippy? Got a relationship going already, Jose looks to be out the door and listening to Farke talk is like Being on sort of meditation course in Berlin! Hummmmm… 😆

Back home where he can learn good habits off of Sissoko, Aurier, Dier etc. How to stand still and watch the real pros bust a gut.
