“Conte’s sort of player” Pundit tips this player to shine for Tottenham’s new boss

By Bruce Grove -

Former Aston Villa man, Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to become a key player for Tottenham under Antonio Conte.

The Danish midfielder has been an ever-present in the Tottenham team since he joined the club last summer.

He was unmovable in the team under the management of Nuno Espirito Santo and Agbonlahor believes he will still be a regular under Antonio Conte.

Hojbjerg has emerged as one of the most proficient midfielders in English football recently and he keeps getting better.

When a new manager comes into a club, everyone is at risk of losing their place in the team.

Players who have been out of favour under the previous boss could become starters under the new manager, but Agbonlahor is convinced that whatever happens, Conte will see Hojbjerg as one player who can help him achieve what he wants with Spurs.

“He’s definitely Conte’s sort of player,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider.

“He runs hard, he tackles hard. I think he will be one that definitely gets a run of games under Conte.

“But I still think they need somebody in there with him. Conte likes midfielders who are tough-tackling players but get on the ball and play. Hojbjerg can do that.”

Hojbjerg has only been at Spurs for around a year, but he has been so important to the club that he has made 70 appearances in all competitions already.

He looks set to make even more for the club and he will be keen to help end the wait for a trophy at the Tottenham Stadium.

PEH played every game last season and is pretty close to it the season. He would get a run of games under any manager.
