Confirmed Tottenham starting XI against LASK Linz – Bale starts

By Bruce Grove -

Spurs welcome Austrian outfit, LASK Linz, to the Tottenham Stadium this evening in the first round of Europa League group games.

Jose Mourinho and his men will be looking to put the capitulation against West Ham behind them and the best way to do that is to record a convincing win over LASK.

Mourinho is certain to take this competition seriously, he is someone that wants to win every tournament he is involved in and he will be acutely aware what it will do for his legacy and reputation if he can turn Tottenham into serial winners.

Nothing less than a win will do tonight, defeat is unthinkable, it would set the team back no end, whereas a win would set them up perfectly for the away trip to Burnley on Monday night.

Tottenham starting XI

Let us know in the comments below what you think of Mourinho’s team line up, is this Tottenham starting XI going to collect all three points and if so, by how much?

Levy wins one Mickey Mouse Cup in over 20 years, and gives out a few free tickets to win favor. It seems to work…

I’m happy to discuss anything about my club on here, so keep asking me as much as you like dow i’m happy to discuss anything about my club on here, so keep asking me as much as you like Dan. My opinion isn’t worth any more than anyone else’s, however nobody is going to tell me what I think of the club or how to support them.

I guess that’s just tough sh*t for those who think they can… 😂

Some were very quiet after the 3-3 and full of sh*t after yesterday. So I’m just looking for some perspective, we learned we can beat a tiny team nobody’s heard of? When we beat someone serious, that’s the only way we will learn something. Bale might take a month or two to get fully up to speed. We have a deeper squad though for the first time in over two years…

How long is it going to take bale to get up to speed with his fitness!?

Good run out against a pub team, Vince looked good. Otherwise we’ve learned nothing, apart from the squad looking rotatable for the Ropey…

Moura honestly had a few good moments too

…but then Son comes on and you realise he’s not quite that.

A good showing from Moura all the same.

Bale is a different player to the one who left WHL. Raw pace and power is gone but he’s much more savvy and still a wand of a left foot.

When Bale gets fit we’ll be formidable with hime and Son/Kane – at the start of this match he was nutmegging them, playing give and goes, really lively.

Just needs the fitness, he gives us something different again from Son and Kane – box of tricks.

Solid enough performance. Vinicius looks a player who can create assists. Good touch just needs to be aware of offside positions. Gareth is getting there. It will take him a few matches and then he will explode again. Like to see Lo Celso and Ndombele behind Kane, Son and Bale. Love Requilion. His run for the second goal was so good to see one of our fullbacks heading in the right direction for a change. Docherty will come good I am sure. Lovely to hear Hart barking out the orders. Good for Kane to have a rest for Monday.

This is a great squad waiting to gel with the glaring exception of a reliable commanding centre half. Toby is the only one I trust.

Son up the tempo and Sissoko took the ball forward without losing it (Lamela!), made the 2nd half more palatable…amazing squad now, bit dodgy at the back and need to keep Winks away and Lamela as a sub..
