Competition increasing for international striker linked with a move to Tottenham

By Bruce Grove -

It is widely accepted that Tottenham needs to sign a back-up striker to Harry Kane this summer and one name that has been linked with a move to the Tottenham Stadium is that of Vedat Muriqi.

The Kosovan international is currently plying his trade with Turkish outfit Fenerbache, however, he has been told that he can leave this summer and clubs have started to line up to secure his signature.

Premier League duo West Brom and Leicester City are reported to be keen on his services and Italian outfit Lazio are also said to be interested, according to A spor as cited by Turkish Football.

Apparently, so claims the same report, Fenerbahce president Ali Koc is willing to offload Muriqi as long as the right bid is tabled.

I do not get the impression that Tottenham see Muriqi as a priority and given a choice would prefer to sign Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson.

Another factor that would count against Tottenham is the fact that multiple clubs are interested, Daniel Levy is not known for getting into bidding wars.

It is not out of the question that Muriqi will end up in North London but I would suggest that the 26-year-old is unlikely to be playing for Spurs next season.
