This post-match interview wasn’t difficult to crack. Gareth Bale was brought in for a one-season loan deal. After some criticism, the 31-year-old announced that the plan was always to return to his club, Real Madrid.
Therefore, the response to the golf enthusiast returning to Spain as planned would not be chaotic. Whereas, if it were to be announced that Bale was to stay and perhaps end his career at Spurs, then that would certainly cause something akin to chaos.
I take a view – which I have expressed previously – that Levy doubling down on his decision to loan Bale would not shock me at all. Let’s hope this is a better decision than some of the others, eh.
Or maybe Bale’s off to Arsenal!
Bale was attacked in three separate games by the assassin Charlie Adam, who tried to end his career, and as a consequence of that has left him suspect to further injury problems which is why he cannot play consecutive games on a regular basis.
And no better Clowns to blow it. 🤡
Reports vary from 200-250k a week.. There is no way we are paying his full 600k a week.
He’s only worth what the buying club is willing to pay. Then it’s up to Spurs to either accept it or not, we can’t ‘make’ anyone pay £150m. If he hands in a transfer request and it gets ugly then Kevy doesn’t hold all the cards, just because he has 3 years left on his contract.
Anderton’s nickname was ‘sicknote’ not Bale’s and although he might have got the odd injury, I doubt Real would have paid a world record fee for a constantly injured player. I think you’ll find you are reinventing history…
Strangely, I want Bale to do something unexpected & not tell Levy. Waste of money.
Without his goals we’d finish in the lower half of the table.
Although I love Bale, he is so unreliable, every time someone tackles him my heart stops, especially when he starts hobbling, he never plays 2 games in a row, his injury record is ridiculous even when he played with us the first time. His nickname back then was sicknote, can’t help thinking he will spend most of the time injured next season and spurs paying him to stay at home watching TV or playing golf on his computer.
That’s his n his alone it won’t come need spurs n he will say he’s skint
What have u watched all season he’s lost it by long shot can’t run unless it’s a easy run he’s never ran full pace since he’s arrived took till turn of the year to even see a ok game from him n that was Europe league n it was 35 mins he turned up for bale can’t even trust his own body so why should us fans trust him he’s finished n he needs to go back to real n play golf in the sun
Not really as no sell on factor with kane n 4-5 years at the top as well before the down fall but levy will take him back on loan when he gets there like he’s done with bale where haaland n sancho r young n massive sell on if Barca real PSG or Bayern come calling
we will lose kane n son but keep bale winks dele Sanchez auier sissoko doc as that’s the levy way n mason as manger cheep way for levy
They were just that in the last 15 mins.
The best football décision would be for Levy to stop playing football manager with a real team. Those is not a video game and he is not av football manager. I’ve always thought it strange that businessmen who can run a business think they can manage a football when they have no experience of the game or skills in managing players and tactics. ENIC wouldn’t let a plumber run their business. Despite what Alan Sugar thinks, most fans would make better managers then most businesspeople, especially in selection matters.
If Kane is sold, it shouldn’t be for less than £150m as he’s got 3 years left on his contract. Doesn’t matter we’re in ‘covid times’ his value remains seriously high.
Talk of Haaland & Sancho being sold for about £100m each surely means Kane’s value is much more?
Feels like Bale will stay to soften the blow for Kane moving to City. Fans are back next season and need an incentive to pay top dollar for a ticket. Son may feel happier knowing that Bale is around to play upfront with him next season but if he hasn’t got the hunger to give 100% next season, we may as well cash in Son for some decent young players. £180 million from Kane and Son sales plus all the B team sales = easy £250 million budget to blow!
I saw a figure of £220,000 p/w – a third ish.
We can now earn squillions in the European Conference league.
Its pay back time.
Wasn’t the story that he would when his contract expires?
If he goes back, the chaos in the Spanish media given what some at Real think of him, how they’d respond, or who’d they sell him too, would probably get very silly very quickly. My guess is he’s off back to the Madrid Globetrotters.
I read somewhere that he’s retiring
He’s been immense value
Bale will stay to keep the heat off Levy for selling Kane
Sadly that is the truth the four mentioned have played against the same pub sides and not contributed anything.
He must have the best minutes per goal in the premiership. Out of the 250 million we have wasted over the last two years sadly he provided a better return on investment than pretty much all of our acquisitions if you take into account transfer fees
Supposed to be less than Kane and not the much mentioned, £300,000. Just over 200 k I read somewhere.
I see Bale scored a couple against that pub team from Leicester today 😉
Bale = 16 goals, 7 assists, what have Moura, Lo Celso, Bergwjin and Lamela offered this season in comparison ?
Another nail in the coffin of the next manager. Levy already dabbling in who he has or doesn’t have in his squad.
I say publicity stunt from the start. End this madness now and start making proper football decisions.
Does anyone know how much we are paying Gareth Bale? The perceived wisdom is that we are sharing the cost with RM but can anyone substantiate that?
It probably suits both parties politically to say the costs are shared to placate possible criticism but I wouldn’t be surprised if the real figure was different either way
Oh come ON!!???
Marvellous and he’ll be able to avail of the world class treatment facilities at Hotspur when he returns from the Euros nicely banjaxed. We’ll have to wait 3 months before he returns to full fitness.
Wouldn’t call Leicester lesser opposition.
What could you get for £12m these days even though he can only do it against lesser opposition…….defence / midfield have been the main problem this year where we need to strengthen of course if Hk leaves it’s a different story
At a lower price per week, why not? The pub team slayer has now also scored against decent opposition, but the question still remains – is he fit enough? Or will we again spend half a season paying him to work with our medical staff?
Lose Kane but keep Bale… Levy’s way of minimising the hurt?
I love Bale, or rather I love the idea of Bale; I’d rather keep Kane though. It would take quite a new manager and some significant new defenders (not new Sanchez’s) to do that though. Just can’t see it.
What we could do with that 🙂
Just read Uncle Joe amassed an additional 338m in last year, is it his gift
