“Can’t See Us Scoring Ever Again” – Downbeat Spurs Fans After Leipzig Defeat

By Joe Fish -

Tottenham have left themselves needing another second-leg Champions League recovery following tonight’s 1-0 home defeat to RB Leipzig.

Timo Werner scored the only goal of the game for the German outfit, converting from the spot in the second half after a foul by Ben Davies.

The result leaves us in the same predicament that we were in heading to Ajax for last season’s semi-final, trailing by a goal going into the away leg.

That night, a Lucas Moura hat-trick sent us into ecstasy – as if you needed reminding – but with the Brazilian struggling for form, and Harry Kane and Son Heung-min injured, possibly for the rest of the season, these Spurs fans on Twitter haven’t got much faith in the current attack to do the business.

Lucas and Dele Alli squandered our two decent chances on the night – both headers. They have two goals in 20 games between them and still represent our biggest goal threat right now. That spells out the trouble we are in.

And I don’t just mean in the second leg.

Levy is a con man masquerading as someone who cares about football. He’s a decent actor, I’ll give him that…

Also a decent chairman with ambition to win as opposed to gold collecting.

The more suspicious among us would consider the possibility Dan the man has cottoned onto the fact its cheaper to buy managers than players. And to sack them when they ask for players. The club is a mess Andy, and it stems from that little ego maniacs office

Did they miss that LoCelso free kick? This kid is going be everything we wished Eriksen would have been, but never consistently was.

He’s got 15 million reasons to stay, don’t blame him for that. The way we set up at home tonight shows how out of touch we are in football terms. As Hoddle said we are playing in hope, the players have forgotten how to pass and play together to actually create scoring opportunities. Not having strikers is one thing, not being able to create is another thing entirely. Nothing “special” about tonight and no chance of being a “serial winner” if we can’t change our style. 32 yo Nagelsmann set up RBL to give us a football lesson all over the pitch.

Ha ha. But they’d also complain if Levy used that inflated ticket money to buy players! Poor Daniel can’t win.

Absolutely certain he walks. We had a few chances at winning and the last little push never came. It is George Graham the 2nd, and may win something tho I don’t see him hanging about for the summer carry on tbh. I’m with you, the last year at Whl was the time to really push on, didn’t, poch says numerous times we need to do things differently and they don’t listen/care. Will defo pay the price now mate

Yep, I’m staggered by just how many people are able accept any of this as anything other than a complete shambles.

I wasn’t a fan of Jose before he came and I’m still not, he’s done nothing to change my perspective of what he does. However, i respect what he’s done in the past and the fact he’s trying his very best to get his hand on that 2m Champions League qualification bonus.

ENIC’s property development scheme is on schedule but without Poch the football has hit a complete dead end. Who else can make it work with these spending levels? Jose will walk eventually…

Levy got lucky with Poch, got his 17th net spend into the Champions League five seasons running playing some exhilarating football along the way.

Now he’s gone the reality of ENIC is hitting home. Jose was a move born out of desperation on Levy’s part to try and remain in the Champions League this season.

Jose is trying his best and who knows, he might get us there, but anyway you look at it this just a short term thing. I’m not going to say ‘fix’, because the only people who can fix things at Spurs are the owners…

Mate there’s only a few of us who can see past this charade. He’s a dinosaur end of. Smacks of a George Graham type appointment. Nothing against him but he ain’t gonna succeed he’s come along to take a boatload of cash that’s it. And as for the owners….

What we really need is a striker, and a decent manager not living off past glories…

I’ll start then. All you people who queue up and gawk at a building, shame on you. You look at a light show. Revel in the comfort of a seat. Meanwhile proper football clubs are going and winning things because they invested in the single most important aspect of any club. 11 people who take that field. Waddle was furious on the radio. Tactics? No thanks. Personnel? Not good enough. Winning football? Pull the other one. Our luck is well and truly runni g out, and anyone who thinks for a split second this shambles of a shadow of a once great football club is anywhere near winning, for your own sake seek help urgently.
