Breaking: ENIC U-Turn As Non-Playing Staff Will Now Be Paid In Full For 2 Months

By The Boy -

After what can only be described as a particularly nasty backlash from supporters, and the media, ENIC has suspended the furloughing of non-playing staff with immediate effect. The club will now reinstate in full all the suspended salaries.

The idea that a hugely profitable private business could be allowed to avail of a state handout beggared belief. Mind you, Spurs weren’t the only ones to be shamed into an u-turn. Liverpool Football Club ran into the same negativity from their fans who were as equally unimpressed.

Under the new terms, the club will now only target board members, who will take a 100% pay cut for April and May. The full payment for the staffers previously effected will also cover the same period.

What particularly grated with some Spurs fans was that whilst the state would provide 80% of the staff compensation, the club was refusing to even make up the other 20%.

The U-turn caused the club’s server to collapse.

This site highlighted numerous issues surrounding the way THFC and football generally had responded to the COVID-19 crisis, as well as pointing out how much bad press was being generated.

In a forthcoming article, we will ask where the #PlayersTogether initiative is currently hiding itself.

Heard this news on the radio and was relieved. Mates who support other clubs were speaking to me as if it was my fault, which I understand, but I was still embarrassed. Now they can just get back to saying how rubbish we are again! What concerned me about the radio was the presenter implying Levy was forcing the hand of the players, making them feel guilty that they were keeping their wages whilst the poorest in the club were getting cuts. What absolute drivel!

Levy has only realised that the PR car crash isn’t worth it going forward, mainly financially.

The only thing he understands is balance sheets and he learns from nothing and isn’t interested in learning. Each time the club release their financial reports, so long as it looks ‘healthy’ in that respect he considers everything to be fine.

He doesn’t even like football…

We would never have lived this down, the stain would have remained for ever, every away game the home fans would have let us have it. The club are now using their facilities as a drive in NHS Covid testing centre for NHS staff and their families. This looks like just the beginning of the use of the ground to help the local community. There is much more information in the club statement. It took time, and the press and TV backlash and the discontent of fans such as ourselves and on twitter and other blogs and forums but it is welcome. I can hold my head up now instead of cringing with embarrassment. I said it earlier but when you find yourself in the company of the likes of Mike Ashley you should know you’re in trouble.

It says everything about Levy and ENIC that they climb down from this only after receiving a negative backlash like this.

Should never have entertained the idea in the first place, at least for several months. Embarrassing and has blackened the name of the club even further.

Our owners are a £ucking penny pinching running joke and the sooner these con men have gone the better.

ENIC OUT.

One contributer on here, I think he is called Lily White without the double LL, correct
me if I’m wrong has said he will not renew his season ticket, I’m sure he is not alone. I was going to order stuff from the club Superstore but put that on hold because of the treatment of the workers. Money talks and Levy listened. Tell me what business would want to have their brand tarnished by having their name on the Tottenham Stadium after this fiasco and have to pay Mr Levy £30 million a year for twenty years for the privilege. As Neil Diamond sang, “Money talks, it can sing and dance and it can walk”.

Good levy has started to realise he is a joke. Or at least begin to understand that he is viewed as a cartoon villain by a large proportion of the fan base!!!!!
