Blatant Come & Get Me Plea: Back To Back Bundesliga Winner Wants A Move

By Joe Fish -

Top Tottenham target Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg has indicated his readiness to leave Southampton by admitting he is “hungry to get to the next level”.

The 24-year-old midfielder also said he wants to win the Premier League and the Champions League in a blatant come and get me plea to potential suitors, during an interview with native Danish outlet Sport1.

You might want to join Liverpool instead of Spurs then, sunshine.

Hojbjerg also revealed Southampton are aware of his ambitions.

“I know what I want, the club knows it too,” Hojbjerg told Sport 1. “I want to play at an even higher level than I am currently. The relationship between Southampton and me is fantastic.

“The club gave me the platform to grow. I’m not saying ‘Goodbye’ and I’m focused on my club, but my goal is very clear: I want to win the Premier League and the Champions League.

“When I was 23 I became a captain in a Premier League club. Now I’m hungry to get to the next level.”

As Sky Sports details, Hojbjerg has been identified as a potential Spurs signing since January, with his St Mary’s contract expiring in 2021.

Based on what he has said, the chances of him extending his stay there are slim to none so the Saints face having to sell their skipper at a knockdown price.

That is where we come in.

A long-term target, who would improve us in a priority position without breaking the bank; this is as plausible a Spurs transfer rumour as there is right now.

Even Jim White would struggle to big this up on transfer deadline day.

A classic Levy transfer that will probably drag on until we’ve all lost the will to live

I can’t help but feel that Hjobjerg is not going to take us to another level. Probably good value, but nothing special. Anyway, he won’t be coming to us if he wants to win the League and the Champions League.
