Bergwijn Leaves Maguire For Dead To Score Spurs’ First Goal Of Restart | Video

By Joe Fish -

We got a glimpse of Steven Bergwijn prior to lockdown, but the Dutch winger is still a bit of an unknown commodity to defenders for the Premier League restart.

Well, Harry Maguire…meet Stevie B; Tottenham’s new No.23.

The January signing from PSV Eindhoven left the world’s most expensive defender in his wake during a brilliant solo run which led to the opening goal in our comeback game against Manchester United.

David de Gea makes a mess of what was in fact a fairly unthreatening shot, but take nothing away from the dribble which preceded it.

It’s a very similar goal to the one that Lucas scored at Old Trafford a couple of years ago, and it has given us Spurs fans something to smile about after a long three months.

Man Utd are vulnerable at centre half. Maguire has no pace. Well done Stevie B.
