Tottenham signed Gareth Bale on loan for the rest of this season from Real Madrid.
The attacker has enjoyed his return to the club even though he has yet to play for them regularly.
His loan move is looking a lot like one that could be made permanent at the end of this season because the attacker doesn’t want a return to Madrid and he appears content in North London.
He is already above the age of 30, and most footballers will have started to plan for their retirement at his age.
Some players also look to end their careers in their native country and Bale was asked about that.
Welsh side Wrexham has just been taken over by Hollywood actors, Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney.
They have vowed to turn the team into a footballing powerhouse and Bale was asked if he would love to return to Wales and retire at the club.
He laughed it off and said Wrexham wasn’t close enough to Cardiff, suggesting that he isn’t thinking about leaving Tottenham, at least for now.
Asked about their takeover, the Wales captain said as quoted by the Mail: ‘Hopefully it’s good for Wrexham, I haven’t read too much about it but I have heard about it.
‘Hopefully they do good things for Wrexham and get them back into the football league.’
Bale was then asked whether he could finish his career there if the club do well.
Laughing off the suggestion, Bale joked: ‘It’s a bit too far for me from Cardiff.’
The question posed was rather tongue in cheek and In actual fact, Cardiff to London is further to travel than it is to Wrexham, talking of which I would love to see them back in the EFL , that day they knocked the scum League Champions out of the FA Cup will always have it’s place in history and live with me forever.
