AVB Reveals All About Bale’s Transformation At Tottenham

By The Boy -

If Andre-Villas Boas ever releases a book about his time at Tottenham, that will be a dark day in Enfield. The former Spurs gaffer oversaw what I always felt was a fascinating period of the club. What has emerged thanks to the launch of some computer game is that Bale, like Harry Kane, was another self made player product, that had to invent himself.

Of course, this tale will be seized upon by those that still wish the Portuguese ill, as Villas-Boas’ claiming the glory for Bale’s evolution, but if you read the quote slowly, it was Bale that went to AVB, not the other way around, so it was the Welshman that had the idea that he needed to be redeployed. That said, it would be churlish not to credit Andre with embracing the idea, opposed to tell him to naff off and run around a bit.

Our thanks to EA SPORTS FIFA 21 and COPA90.

Yes but Baie cleat emerged under Arrry, not saying that was Arry’s doing but had it been Jose we’d be praising him as a genius no doubt…

When Bale left AVB put Sir Blastalot in that role, unfortunately he wasn’t quite as “immense” as predicted and AVB was toast. Saw us get pummelled 4-1 at home by Brendan Rogers’ Liverpool. Lewis Holtby was the only one to come out of the game with any credit. AVB was likeable enough but not cut out to top level management.

I guess if you learn how to do it partly though a management sim game the results can often be mixed! 🤔

Never knew this. Assumed it was AVBs plan. I really hope Maureen plays Bale in this which is his favourite position. Central attacking midfielder/ second striker/ number 10 role, playing in a free role behind Kane… All his best performances were there for us and also Madrid amazingly though he only had 50 odd games there for them. His stats and damage were best when he was in the middle in that CAM role.. This is where he will want to play first choice. When we need to switch formation and tactics he can play either flanks easily… Signing Bale is marvellous. We have to be dark horses right now.

A cautionary tale about the highly rated Swansea centre half Joe Rodon that Ben Davies was in excellent form until he joined Spurs (ouch!!)

A famous Nottingham Forest manager if I recall correctly was once accused of accepting a “donation” of thirty grand in a brown paper bag and this was probably in the eighties when that was a large lump of money.

I can just imagine what would’ve happened if he’d gone into Redknapp’s office.
GB: Boss, I’m not happy. Things are not going well for me.
HR: OK, then. I’ll see what I can do.
GB: Thanks, boss.
(One minute later …..)
HR: (picks up phone) Sam, it’s ‘Arry. I’ve got a top, top player for you. Young Welsh lad, he’s a bit quick. Right up your alley. You know the drill – brown paper bag, used notes.

Terrified of the premiere league now🌚 I wonder if he’d do well at a low expectations club? West ham would suit him perfectly

So, it would appear that to really succeed at Tottenham, you have to put yourself out there, have a vision of your career, believe in yourself and push the manager. Just not like Danny Rose.
