Aurier risked Rose type of downgrade after storming out against Tottenham

By Bruce Grove -

Serge Aurier is fighting to save his Tottenham career after storming out on Jose Mourinho and his teammates against Liverpool.

There was tension in the Spurs dressing room at halftime after Liverpool scored a late opener.

Mourinho reacted to the situation by substituting the former PSG right-back, but Aurier was said to have stunned his teammates with his reaction and stormed out of the stadium.

Spurs would go on to concede two more goals in the second half and lose the game 3-1.

Aurier will be regretting his action now with Mail Sport claiming that the defender is fighting for his career in north London.

Danny Rose confronted Mourinho for his lack of first-team chances last season, and that led to the Englishman being sent out on loan to Newcastle United.

He returned to the squad after his spell in the northeast, but he never played for Spurs again.

Aurier has just 18 months left on his current Tottenham deal, and he has enjoyed a resurgence in this campaign.

But he may have undone all his good work with that reaction, and time will tell if he plays for the club again.

Feckled fans are reacting. He is scape goat when we lost, even as other players making same silly mistake.

Aurier and Sanchez just aren’t good enough. Dier probably not either. Davies I have time for. Rarely loses concentration and gives his all. Of all our defenders only Rodon Toby Davies Reggie and Tanganga are anyehere near the standard required.

The key to any successful team is two good fullbacks..we have one, Reg, Oreo should be 2nd choice but thats it…

Sissoko is a squad player and has his uses and also wouldn’t get rid of Bergwijn, he needs time and has been injured a bit…replace with Lamela – 8 years and nothing..

When you’re only other recognised right back is Matt Doherty you don’t have any choice but to pick Aurier. Storm out or storm in he has to start.

We are struggling to compete for top 4 at the moment, in a season where a bit of consistency would have put us well in the mix. We lack quality. Dier and Sanchez were always back up for Jan and Toby. To have them now lead as a defensive pair is why we are all over the place. How many of that bunch I mentioned would get into Leicester’s team, the weakest of the top 4 contenders (after Utd, City and Liverpool)?

It was only a few weeks ago that Aurier cost us points by conceding a penalty just before half time against Leicester at home. When you see the replay of the first Liverpool goal it really is appalling the way Mane just walks past Aurier with Aurier just completely ignoring him. He has cost us so many points and he just seems to switch of concentration at crucial times in the match. Dier and Davies are the same. How many goals have they cost us between the three of them?

Aurier is still a disaster waiting to happen. He may well not be as inconsistent as last season, but I don’t think he has added value to us. Doherty has made him look a world beater! Reggie on the left is streets ahead of Aurier and still has a lot of improving to do. Would Aurier be missed? There is your answer. Same with Davies, Sanchez, Winks, Sissoko, Bergwijn, Bale, Vinicius, Doherty, Dier.
