“At the level he’s earning? No chance” talkSPORT Pundit Dismisses Touted Spurs Deal

Neither Danny Murphy nor Simon Jordan believes that Gareth Bale is worth his existing level of wages, and I make them right. If Bale is to be retained beyond this season, then the ‘delightful’ Mr. Barnett, Mr. Bale, and Mr. Levy all need to sit down and hammer out a new price. Perhaps one that reflects both the existing wage structure at Tottenham and the fact that it took the 31-year-old six months to join in

Of course, Bale is under no obligation to do anything. He has a perfectly valid contract with Real Madrid. However, if the boy cares one iota for his legacy, then he will diminish the warmth of the Tottenham fairytale if he quits Spurs in order to spend the last 12 months of his career playing golf. Or perhaps that will suit him best, and reveal just how shallow his love for football became, in the end.

A contract is a contract. Madrid must pay. End of.

Didn’t we have the option to loan him again if all parties were happy ? Or he gets a decent payoff from RM and then his salary will be in live with Harry

Keeping it simple, he’s a contract for until the end of next season, where is the value in anyone buying him when the loan costs are say only £12million (estimated)which isn’t far off (relatively) to what sissoko costs a season (wages plus the 6million a year over 5 years for his transfer)

5. IF he can maintain a decent fitness level and steady contributions to the team effort over a full season, not just a few weeks here and there.

Hopefully, IF….
1. He retains (& possibly improves on) his current form.
2. He gets a free/very low fee transfer to THFC.
3. RM reach agreed pay off.
4. He accepts a wage in line with THFC structure.
(I won’t hold my breath)

Agreed, football is all about the money sadly as we will probably find out one way and the other in the summer.

Can’t blame someone for wanting what they’re owed, if Spurs can’t stump up a % of his wages next season then Bale should stay at Madrid taking them for every penny of that ridiculous salary they’ve agreed to pay him.
