‘As I’m told…’ A plausible swap deal mooted as Spurs aren’t done quite just yet

By Eddie Razo -

Many are excited about the additions of Tottenham Hotspur. With the latest being reported that Richarlison is heading to north London, they still have to sell off some players who have no future, such as Joe Rodon.

Rodon has been on the list of players who have wanted to sell since the January window, but no deal has surfaced. However, as the summer transfer season is underway, Everton is keen on the 24-year-old.

TalkSPORT reports Everton boss Frank Lampard has added Tottenham Hotspur center-half to his “shortlist.” The Wales international isn’t in Antonio Conte’s plans, and their search for a central defender will push Rodon down the ranks at Hotspur Way. Alex Crook said.

“We know for his part Frank Lampard is quite keen on at least one Tottenham player in Harry Winks, maybe two, as I’m told Joe Rodon is also on Lampard’s shortlist this summer, so there could be some kind of swap deal,”

Furthermore, with the FIFA World Cup later this year, the Spurs defender likely wants more playing time to secure a spot on the national team that will be heading to Qatar.

Along with the Tottenham center-back, Everton is also reportedly in on midfielder Harry Winks, so perhaps they could be preparing for a double swoop this summer.

Everton and Spurs are basically swapping their duffers, sugar coating the slight of hand via the media, and conning both sets of supporters with a smoke and mirrors act.

Turd polishing is both clubs speciality.

If he was at Ajax now and we wanted to sign him, how much would they be quoting us?”

A fortune because we stole Super Jan and Eriksen.

Wouldn’t be so sure – we might end up having to pay someone to take him!

I think Spence counteracts Winks. Rodon is Non HG for European anyway.

I reckon you’ve overpriced Royal, Reguillon, Winks & Gil by about 5 to 10 mil in each case.

Sell Winks and Rodon then you would have to buy two homegrown in.

Great point on the buying. Traditionally we buy at a higher rate than we sell. Those club put our money to good use then sell at s higher rate 2 years later 😆. Not a bad list. We going to sign Lenglet because we want to and we can. Nothing in it than what it is. If we take care of business the reality is Tanguy going nowhere. So if the outgoings pans out they do not need to be replaced. Take Sanchez off the list. Conte seem to think there is something in the old coconut. He is not going anywhere and am not sure Columbia is in the world cup for him to push for a move.

Rodon, I’m thinking Conte wants players great with the ball at their feet in his backline, great passers….is Rodon that type?

Tell Bergwijn he stays unless Ajax pay top dollar. If he was at Ajax now and we wanted to sign him, how much would they be quoting us?

We still have money for more deals later in the window – play-maker and striker IMHO.

Conte apparently persuaded Barcelona player to come. If that’s the case it’s good enough for me.
Joe was told he was backup for Eric and never played. Not sure why, but Conte obviously doesn’t trust him. I assume Japhet will do the job of covering for Eric, unless maybe we are all wrong and get Bremer as well.
