After the end of the season, teams will turn their attention towards preparing for next season, and that is exactly what Tottenham will be doing.
The Lilywhites have ended a turbulent campaign by qualifying for next season’s Europa League.
They will now look to add some quality players to the squad to avoid having a repeat of this season.
A number of players have been linked with a move to Spurs when the transfer window reopens, but it remains to be seen who will join them and which of the club’s current player will be leaving.
After their last game of the season against Crystal Palace, Mourinho was asked about his transfer plans.
The former Manchester United boss made it clear that he will be strengthening his team when the window opens, although, he made it clear that he won’t be buying many players, neither will he be spending so much money on a particular player.
“Are we going to buy 10 players? No. Are we going to buy players for £100m? No. We are going to improve. I enjoy working with Steve [Hitchen – Spurs chief scout] in this organisation. We are very connected with Mr Levy and the board and we’re going to do what is possible to do and hopefully next season we can give it to the fans a very good season.”
So, in conclusion, not a lot of money will be spent and there will not be a huge influx of players. Make of that what you will.
We never spend £100m on a player anyway Josay so that was unnecessary.
There is a painful dearth of creativity, which none of the names being linked are likely to change.
“We are going to improve. I enjoy working with Steve [Hitchen – Spurs chief scout] in this organisation. We are very connected with Mr Levy and the board”
Why did Paul Mitchell leave again and Steve comes back for another go but this time doing what he’s told.
business as usual…
