“Anyone who wants to work with Levy twice in one life time needs to have their head looked at!” Spurs fans react to possible Poch return

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham has been linked with a move for Mauricio Pochettino as they continue to search for a new manager.

The Lilywhites sacked Jose Mourinho two months ago and made Ryan Mason their interim boss until the end of last season.

The former midfielder helped them reach the European Conference League places.

He will be replaced before next season starts and Poch has emerged as one of Tottenham’s biggest targets.

Spurs sacked him in 2019 after a poor start to the 2019/2020 season even though he had led them to the final of the Champions League that year.

They replaced him with Mourinho, but he couldn’t even help them get a top-four finish.

Poch has been the manager of PSG since the start of the year and he has won two trophies for them even though he lost the league title to Lille.

Some Spurs fans would be glad if he returns, but some have questioned why he would want to.

A Tottenham fan tweeted about how crazy it would be for him to leave PSG, ignore Real Madrid and return to Spurs. Here are some reactions:

Oh there’s no doubting that. half the squad need a good kick up the backside. I am just saying that if I was Conte why would I sign for a squad which might lose their top striker, half the squad needs clearing out and wont get half of what I would from the chairman.

Smoke and mirrors. What does Conte care, one season and a big pay off and onto some other club.

Conte and an Italian DOF. They worked out so well with Baldini didn’t it? 🤔
Anyway if true it’s just Levy creating yet another setup to deflect heat from himself. He’s been doing that for over 22 years.

it will be yet another false dawn, but as long as it keeps the punters paying for a few seasons he won’t give a cr*p…

If Conte is similar to Mourinho in man-management, then surely Spurs players need to step up. Why should they be treated like children? They are professionals who earn a lot of money. It’s time Spurs players develop some grit for once. Otherwise the club will go through coaches like I go through my socks!

Why would Conte come here? he left because Inter wouldnt spend a bucket load of money for new players.

Furthermore Conte is similar to Mourinho in style and man management and we all saw how that panned out.

If this went through it would just prove how out of touch Levy is and how unfit for selecting a manager he is

The PSG job is a big job, but it’s a tight rope. He’s only been there for months and he’s already won a trophy, he was brought in to fix issues that they have. And to be fair he hasn’t really had the time to do that.

I think he wants to come back to Spurs, but never imagined it would be this soon. However, if he can be given some guarantees that things would be different this time and sign a four year deal With us on the same money, then that’s relatively more appealing than PSG. As they seem to have a habit of firing perfectly decent managers…

This story just won’t die. Fan sites online reporting all sorts of dubious ITK.

Tottenham TV going big on some twitter guy who has actually said Poch to Spurs will be announced today at 6pm.

He then adjusted this by saying it will be announced before 10.pm tonight

I just hope this isn’t true. Poch please show some self respect.

He couldn’t be that deluded, though Evening Standard has a story about Levy appointing a Director of Football.

Maybe the softening up process has begun.

If this were to ever happen, surely Poch would have a list as long as his arm of questions about how it would be different this time round… 🤔

When Pochettino intimated in the past that he would consider a return, I assumed he meant after that little bald t*!t had left.

Save Pochettino return for later in his career, when enough water has gone under the bridge; he will always be welcomed back, best he comes back to us as a winner.
comes back now and fails he will damage his own future opportunities and we will have spursed it up once again.
‘either someone young and aggressive, out of left field and reinvent the squad with young and hungry using the Kane money.
or we end up with Conte and a DoF …. which means spending bucks.
keep Poch as an Ace up the sleeve … the time will come when it makes sense…. COYS
