Tottenham Hotspur has had a rough couple of days. The north London club fell earlier in the week to Southampton, blowing a 2-1 lead. Spurs would lose to Wolverhampton Wanderers a few days later, losing 2-0 at home, hurting the chances in the fight for a top-four spot.

Following their disappointing loss to Wolves, manager Antonio Conte stated that he believes his players are stumbling for confidence and cracking beneath the pressure of their poor run. Conte went on to say that a squad can’t go out and buy a winning mentality.

‘The problem is you can’t buy a winning mentality; you can only transfer the winning mentality day by day. It is not sure,” Conte said, per the Daily Mail. “There are players which are more open. Some need more time to understand this. A winning mentality, in my opinion, means I am ready to kill you to live.”

“In every situation, when you show better desire than your opponent. When you understand that, the defeat has to hurt you a lot – not a little. This is not simple. You can’t buy a winning mentality.”

Spurs will have a tougher opponent next week when they travel to the Etihad Stadium and face Manchester City, who’s coming off thrashing Norwich City.

Conte and his squad will hope to get some points out of this game to maintain their position in the fight for a top-four finish. Tottenham also has some matches in hand to close the gap, but these poor performances could come back to haunt them.

Conte and his squad will hope to get some points out of this game”. Seriously? We have absolutely no chance in this game, especially if Sanchez plays.
