Another One: Now Michael Owen Casts Doom And Gloom Over Mourinho’s Winning Ways

Player turned pundit Michael Owen is the latest commentator to get in the anti-Mourinho bandwagon, presenting his own imaginings of the future as a genuine concern to The Daily Mail. Harry Kane must be frustrated Owen says, adding that the Portuguese gaffer isn’t playing the England captain to his strengths.

These wild assertions come hot on the heels of Graeme Souness being roundly criticized for his own moaning about the way Spurs are playing this season.

What is bizarre here, is that not only has Harry Kane never looked so happy, but a child could tell you how he has noticeably developed as a player under Mourinho. More to the point, Harry’s stats have gone through the roof, with Gary Neville recently predicting that the 28-year-old will break any record he wants to.

Fans have also been in awe of Harry this term and the remarkable partnership with Heung Son-Min. It might be time for some pundits to simply admit that Mourinho is currently doing a great job.

Surely you’re not applying the same ethical standards of behaviour to someone who worked in the Alice in Wonderland world of top level football as you would to someone in the real world? That’s grossly unfair.

Next you’ll be admonishing our Gareth for being paid over a million quid every 2 weeks for strutting about the place helping everyone to feel positive.

Michael Owen had pace and could finish… and that’s all. I’m sure he would get frustrated if he was asked to do more than that because he didn’t have it in his locker. Ol’ Harry is a far more accomplished all round footballer than Owen ever was and at this rate is on for scoring 27 goals and getting 30 assists this season. I don’t think there is a player in the history of the Orem that has posted those kinds of numbers

I’ll wager that Harry Kane is not half as frustrated as the tens of thousands of Newcastle fans who were mugged off for more than 10 million quid by Michael Owen, knowingly signing for them when injured and then spending 90% of his first two seasons as a Newcastle player in the treatment room.
