Tottenham Hotspur got off to a slow start to their 2021-22 season, meaning they dropped many points. However, the hiring of manager Antonio Conte has turned the season around, but with a handful of clubs fighting a top-four spot, their margin for error is slim.

Spurs winger Lucas Moura gave some insight into how mad Conte was following their 3-2 loss to Southampton last Wednesday. The Brazil international stated that the Italian tactician was angry after blowing a 2-1 lead to The Saints.

“He was very, very angry! Very, very disappointed,” Moura said, per the Daily Mail. ‘We made some mistakes that we cannot make. We work almost every day in training, and it is the small details that make the difference. So he got very angry with this, very upset. Not only because we lost the game, but we made stupid mistakes that we cannot make.

“It is not about the result; it is about the attitude and the concentration to be in the right place on the pitch. He is very passionate for the game. We need to be ready to listen to him and to accept. He sees the smallest detail and wants us to be almost perfect.”

Despite the loss to Southampton, Tottenham does have three games in hand on West Ham United, who occupy that fourth spot in the Premier League table with 40 points.

Tottenham will hope to bounce back on Sunday when they welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers. Wolves are one of the clubs eyeing that top-four spot as six points separates fourth from ninth place. As a result, a poor result could see Spurs drop to ninth.

I know it’s easy to bemoan the outcome of that game, but even Ralph Hasenhuttl came out afterwards and said thats the best he thinks they played all season! A point at Old Trafford too yesterday – they are in unarguably good form at the moment!

You’d expect Conte to blow a fuse about throwing away 2 goals in 20 minutes, but hopefully we can move on today!
