Alli makes top 55 players in the world despite playing very few games this season

Dele Alli has struggled to play football for Tottenham this season, yet the Englishman has been voted among the top 55 players in the world by his fellow professionals, according to Mail Online.

Alli has had to settle for a place in the cup competitions this season after he fell out with Jose Mourinho because of his perceived lack of application in games.

He remains a very talented lad and he is even a transfer target of PSG who believes that he can improve their team.

Tottenham is doing just fine in the league without him in the team, and there is no need for Mourinho to consider including him in his plans for now.

Despite almost no game time, he was voted alongside his teammates, Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Toby Alderweireld as one of the top 55 players in the world at the moment.

The top 55 world players for the FIFPro’s award based on last season, when Alli also struggled, was voted for by their fellow professionals.

His nomination puts Alli in an elite group of players including Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich and Kevin de Bruyne.

The list will further be narrowed down to pick the best 11 for the World XI and Alli will certainly not feature in that team.

But Kane and Son have continued their fine form this season and they might just make the list.

bit like the oscars awards..meaningless, a vote for your mates type of thing lol.. no doubt when the world x1 is announced it will be subject to racial quotas of course which just continues the absurdity of these gong shows..in “soccer world” score a hat trick today youre a mixture of cruyff maradonna and pele have a bad game tommorrow and youre a useless no hoper.but i guess it feeds allready over fed egos i suppose..as for these voting “fellow professionals”-just get on the pitch and and do your talking with your feet ,cos while people might want to see that i doubt anyone is really interested in what you “think”.

It’s only those who play at the highest level who rate him that highly. Not the true experts.

This is scary because I guess it mains a season ago he’d have been rated in the top 40? Top 30?

That can’t be right.

He has talent and has shown it in the past but even at his best I struggle to think he’s really top 50.

‘Top 50 most promising youngsters’ two or three years ago yes.
