Jose Mourinho delivers Gareth Bale injury update

Jose Mourinho has ruled out Gareth Bale from playing Tottenham’s game against Manchester United this weekend, and he also expects the Real Madrid loanee to be allowed to sit out the International break by Wales.

The winger joined Spurs from Madrid on a season-long loan deal a few days ago, but he has to wait for at least a month before he can make his second debut for the club.

There had been suggestions that he will be ready to face Manchester United this weekend in the Premier League, but Mourinho has ruled that out.

He claimed that the player is working hard and he is in a good way in terms of recovery from his injury and joining the rest of the players in full training.

But this weekend will be too soon, suggesting that the player might return after the international break.

‘Bale cannot play tomorrow or even on the weekend, that I can confirm,’ said Mourinho as reported by the Mail.

‘He is working very hard, very committed, very professional, very happy but not yet ready.

‘I believe the two weeks of internationals can be important weeks for his last phase of recovering and fitness problem, hopefully to play when we’re back to the weekend after national teams. Let’s see if it’s possible to arrive there.

‘I didn’t speak with Ryan Giggs either but it looks like he understands the player and know how important this period is for the player, and it looks like his decision is not to bring him to the national team.

‘In fact, he is not ready, he couldn’t play for them, but to be there and to lose the work he could do with us would be very important for the player. He belongs to Tottenham and belongs to the Welsh national team and it looks like he will have this period to work specifically and it looks like he will be back in good conditions.’

Giggs has said that Bale is not included in the squad for the upcoming matches, so it looks like there has been an agreement made between club and country, which means he should be ready after the international break.

Be great if he doesn’t go away with Wales even as a supporter ,that will give him plenty of time to make himself home within the club and get fit.
If he can be firing on all cylinders for 2 thirds of the games he is going to be a massive asset and truly boost the confidence of the squad which to be fair seems like it is improving and settling down a little now.
