Refreshing news as Jose Mourinho gets his way despite Daniel Levy having an opposing view

The relationship between Jose Mourinho and Daniel Levy is one that is being monitored closely by observers.

This is because Mourinho has fallen out with the club’s hierarchy at several of the teams he has managed before now.

Levy has also proven to be one man that always gets his way and someone who will not allow another individual to take advantage of him.

The two have worked seamlessly so far with the club signing players and making other decisions in a way that pleases both parties.

It seems that Mourinho is even enjoying more freedom to operate than we thought after a recent report revealed that the former Chelsea boss had opposing views about two players with Levy, yet the businessman allowed him to have his way.

ESPN claims that Levy had been excited about the prospect of seeing Kyle Walker-Peters and Troy Parrott breaking into the Tottenham first team in the coming season.

But Mourinho had an opposing view and didn’t consider either player as a part of his immediate plans, certainly not for next season anyway.

They will now not be a part of the Spurs first team when the 2020/2021 season starts.

Parrott has been sent on a season-long loan deal to Millwall, while Walker-Peters has secured a permanent transfer to Southampton, where he spent the second half of last season on loan.

It is a good sign that Levy is allowing Mourinho the freedom to make team decisions but how long that will last is anyone’s guess.

Fair point about Aurier, KWP could have probably surpassed his levels in time. He needed to move on though, I wasn’t hugely impressed with his run in the side early last season. He didn’t really cement his place and he played a fair amount of games. Timing is part of it, as these so often are…

Disagree in terms of KWP, he couldn’t fail to be an improvement on Aurier. A Southampton season ticket holder at work has been really impressed with the boy and feels Saints have got the better end of the deal. I agree in terms of Parrott, hopefully he makes the most of his opportunity at Milllwall and comes back Prem League resdy for 21/22.

Jose hasn’t got the best record in terms of managing young talent, he let De Bruyne, Salah, Lukaku, Robben go. Let’s hope the sale of KWP doesn’t come back to haunt us – hopefully a sell-on clause was included.

I can just imagine the game of Brag they play
JM “I have won everything in different leagues different cultures get me PEH”
DL “but look at our shiny stadium no-one can deliver like me”
JM “pah if I want a building I employ an architect and make sure they build what I want and deliver it on time and under budget ese”
DL “before I phone Stains can you tickle my tummy”

This is an attempt to make something out of absolutely nothing.

I wouldn’t have seen either of those two in our staring 11 this year. KWP not really of the standard required and Parrott like Kane before him needs a loan or two yet to prove himself more.

A non story, next…

Course he wanted to see academy players play for the first team, saves him a fortune in the transfer market. Now he has to buy a right back and a striker. Three cheers for Jose.
