Jose Mourinho played down the significance of the result of yesterday’s friendly by insisting it was an exercise with Norwich and not against them.
Of course, he would say that because we lost 2-1, and the Portuguese goes on to highlight a couple of excuses for the result such as the number of substitutes used and – the old Mourinho favorite – playing the kids.
But the Tottenham boss insisted it achieved what was intended which was to get some minutes in the player’s legs and up the intensity of the preparations for the return match against Manchester United next Friday.
