Thanks to TalkingTottenhamTV, we can a better grip on what happened in London yesterday in the first attempt at playing football against people who aren’t on the club payroll.
Due to Championship side Reading cancelling their friendly with us, our visit against Norwich was decided (in whose wisdom we know not) to not be a conventional 90minutes affair. Instead, the exercise was split into 4 30minute segments.
So for those seeking solace in the shadow of what on paper might look like an embarrassing loss, the truth is, this ‘game’ was not to be confused with an actual game.
In the exercise, Norwich City scored one more goal than us, but for anyone seeking to make bold claims about that, might not know very much about football.
Ndombele played… I think lo celso is missing. He may be our guy who has covid 19.
I would really appreciate knowing what the lineup against Norwich was for the first and second quarters–I assume that the “first” team played then. Did Ndombele and Lo Celso take the field?
So basically albeit in 30 min segments we’re no further forward than when the season ended 3 months ago.
Pre season, friendly what ever you want to label it. We should be looking to win. Guaranteed Citeh and Liverpool will be
😆 Now thats better news man.. Not inspiring, but definitely alot better..
We beat them in the 90 mins🌚. Experimental game
Training exercise. Only a friendly! Excuses losers make. Come on lads more like its only norwich… Photos in that vid showed all our main boys playing. The whole point of a friendly surely is to play match conditions, get match fitness and sharpness, get winning and gain confidence and momentum so you start the season with a bang. Start as you mean to go on….. That friendly sounds like how we’ve been all season. I bet we dominated them first half hour. Got the goal. Then they grow into the game and turn us over….. De ja vu…
We’ll beat united.
OK it was only a friendly, but for a team wanting to qualify for the CL,I would have thought a win was essential to build confidence for the work commencing next week.
The next nine games could be crucial for a number of our players in deciding whether they are retained or let go.It should matter to them.
Norwich have our number at the moment.
We already knew Farke’s Norwich cause this team massive problems.
